The service was excellent from start to finish, with friendly staff who greeted us with a smile and even handed us a bag before we left.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting the flavors to be this good, especially since it’s a fast-casual Indian spot, but I left genuinely impressed. I’m already looking forward to going back!
But the coolest part? They actually let you taste their menu items. Like… as many as you want. I’ve been to plenty of Indian restaurants, and this is the first time I’ve seen that. Love the confidence.
We tried the ghee rice, chicken chukka, and goat ghee roast, and every single dish was packed with flavor. And I have to mention their parotta — because wow. Around the Jacksonville/St. Augustine area, most places serve parotta/paratha that tastes just like the frozen ones from the store. But not here. This one was flaky, soft, and genuinely delicious… the real deal.
The food overall took me straight back to my years in Chennai — the spices and flavors were spot on. Plus, most of their meat dishes are boneless, which is always a nice bonus.
Portion sizes are great, everything was tasty, and overall it was a super solid experience. Kolapasi is definitely worth checking out if you’re anywhere near St. Augustine.
Overall, we will definitely be back! So many more to try!

If you’re a fan of authentic South Indian food, this place is a must-try!
Fun fact: Kolapasi means hungry in South India — and trust me, you’ll want to come hungry because the menu is loaded with bold, crave-worthy dishes. Everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, and you can taste the difference in every bite.
The setup is pretty cool too — you actually get to see the food before you decide, and you can build your own bowl with endless combinations. From classic curries like Butter Chicken, Chettinad Chicken Curry, and Dal Tadka, to specialties like Goat Roast, Kerala Beef Fry, Nilgiri Chicken, and Spicy Coconut Chicken — the flavors are spot on.
They also have plenty of rice options (Lemon Rice, Coconut Rice, Biriyani Rice, and more) plus flaky layered parottas that are perfect for soaking up all that curry goodness.
And don’t skip dessert — the Beetroot Halwa, Tender Coconut Payasam, and Mango Lassi are the perfect way to end the meal.
Whether you’re in the mood for biryani, curries, or just want to build a hearty custom bowl, Kolapasi is bringing South Indian comfort food straight to St. Augustine. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!
