The Brothers Wright Distilling Co. Pikeville location is a 30,000-square-foot craft distillery in the heart of downtown. Formerly known as Dueling Barrels, it features a restaurant, tasting room, gift shop, and event space celebrating Appalachian culture and Kentucky bourbon tradition. The facility produces both spirits and beer on-site and hosts live music and community events. It serves as the company’s main distilling hub, complementing their nearby Aflex location where bourbon is aged in former coal mines.

We popped in at this distillery/brewery midday on a Saturday. Sadly, the main floor was closed, so we had to go upstairs. The bartender was amazing and very helpful. She helped us navigate the different drinks available, discussed the history of the distillery, provided great suggestions for other local sights, and even went down to the ground floor shop to get some items for us for purchase. The actual drinks? Pretty good! They serve a bourbon barrel ale that has quite the flavor.

This place is my guilty pleasure. I love craft beer and I love pub fare and this joint has the best of both. I highly recommend the Scith Egg and the Reuben sandwich. You can’t go wrong with either of them. The pretzel is a great choice as well. Oh yeah… They have beer too and it is phenomenal!

We had a great experience at Dueling Barrels! We had a party of 20. Our waitress and waiter handled our group with ease and attentiveness-great food and great drinks. The owner even gave our group an impromptu tour of the distillery. Thank you for a fun and memorable time with our family!

Good food, definitely not a “cheap eats”, some of favorite items not available on the menu. Will wait until the new owners complete their restaurant remodel before giving them another try. Also did not care for seating, prefer booth seating over uncomfortable chairs provided.

Full food menu with plant based burger options! Their signature drink is a Bluegrass Sundown and is made from Bluegrass Sundown Coffee Liquor, hot water, and heavy cream. Service was fast and wait staff was very nice. Would recommend.

We had such a fun experience here! Jacob & Josh were absolutely fantastic. So welcoming & helpful when we arrived and we had the most fun and interesting tasting experience. The bourbon, moonshine, & beer was out of this world and we can’t wait to come back and tour. Truly, Jacob made the experience so much more enjoyable when was super knowledgeable about everything- cannot wait to return!!

I cant drink but my husband can so he wanted to stop here and check things out. It was our first time stopping in since they have been open and it was lovely. Very spacious, they had a decent variety of shirts and hats, and a very nice selection of alcohol. On top of all that, the service was amazing. My husband was the one asking questions about everything and they were answered with respect and as much knowledge that couldve been given. Definently plan on visiting again!
