Definitely a hidden gem. We finally went here for lunch and definitely wasn’t disappointed! I got shrimp Yakisoba my husband got the steak and chicken with rice and vegetables. We also got rangoons for our appetizer. Definitely not stingy on the servings. Our server was super nice and our food came out quickly. Definitely recommend this spot.

Service was excellent!
We ordered mango boba tea, gyoza, and NY strip and shrimp hibachi.
Mango boba tea was good.
Gyoza was okay on its own, but better with the sauce.
NY strip and shrimp hibachi was a tough call. Rice, was a bit crunchy at some parts, the meat and vegetables were a bit salty. Overall, I plan on going back to try again. We all have off days and I’m hoping that’s what it was.

I found a new regular place! One thing that is missing in south central Texas is great eating joints IMHO. This is a great eating joint. The portions were great, the taste was authentic, and fantastic, and the service was outstanding! I highly recommend this place, it is a keeper.

We have been wanting to try this place for awhile but its a 50 mile drive. So when we found ourselves just two miles away after a Dr. appointment today right at lunch time we headed that way. I got the shrimp and scallop lunch special with double vegies. My favorite wife got the lobster lunch special with veggies and fried rice and a bobbo mango tea. Both came with miso soup. The soup was great and a perfect way to start the meal. Both our lunch specials were outstanding as well! The flavors were very good and we didn’t leave hungry. I highly recommend Itachi Teppanyaki & Ramen even if you do have to travel a little to get there!!

I ordered the Tonkatsu Red Ramen with extra garlic and a side of gyoza, and everything was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the chashu (sliced pork belly) was incredibly tender — it melted in my mouth. It honestly reminded me of the ramen I enjoyed in Japan during the seven years I lived there. The gyoza were perfectly cooked and made the meal even better.

Itachi Ramen is truly a hidden gem — if you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out! Highly recommend!

Bonus: they even applied military discount

We decided to check this local place out because my daughter and I have been craving ramen. It was absolutely delicious! I did the Susanoo (with lots of leftovers) and she did the Shoyu while the rest of my family enjoyed the hibachi options. Everyone agreed the food and service were phenomenal. We will definitely be going back!

Living in San Antonio, it’s been hard to find ramen places that truly take their time with the broth. Too often, spots take shortcuts and the broth ends up thin and watered down. While feeling under the weather and craving soup, I came across Itachi and decided to give it a shot—and I’m glad I did.
Itachi is very much a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, tucked into an older Universal City area with aging apartments, houses, worn parking lots, and dated lighting. Honestly, that immediately screamed hidden gem to me. The parking lot looks small at first, but there’s plenty of space on the well-lit sides and in the back. I also noticed an Itachi food truck parked behind the building, which told me they’ve had enough support and demand to grow into a brick-and-mortar spot—always a good sign.

Walking in was a pleasant surprise. The interior was bright, clean, and welcoming, with anime playing on the TVs and Naruto/Itachi décor throughout. We were greeted by Kayla, an excellent hostess with a warm smile, who let us choose our seating. Service was quick, and Kayla was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations that made ordering easy.

I went in knowing I wanted ramen and ordered the Tonkatsu Black—a savory pork and chicken broth topped with rich black garlic oil, pork belly, soy-marinated egg, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, scallions, fish cake, and seaweed. My wife ordered the Tonkatsu Red, which had the same toppings but featured chili oil instead of black garlic oil. I mentioned to Kayla that I wanted the creamy depth of black garlic but still wanted some heat, and she suggested adding chili oil on the side. That combination was absolutely perfect.

While waiting, we ordered spring rolls. They were thin, crispy, and generously filled with vegetables, but the real standout was the sweet chili sauce on the side. It was sweet and savory with hints of chili, vinegar, and ketchup—and when I found out it was house-made, it made complete sense.
The Tonkatsu Black arrived in under 10 minutes and looked exactly how I hoped it would. The noodles were submerged in a deep, rich-colored broth that clearly took time and care to prepare. The broth was consistently flavorful from start to finish, with no bland pockets or watered-down moments. The pork belly was cooked beautifully—tender, flavorful, and balanced between meat and fat. The mushrooms and bamboo shoots added a satisfying crunch, but the real star was the marinated egg. Even the yolk was packed with flavor, which is rare and appreciated. I saved it for my last bite.

The meal left us full but not uncomfortably bloated. Portion sizes felt just right, and every bite was well balanced with nothing overpowering the broth. I also ordered a taro boba, which was clean and not overly sweet—slightly watery at times, but refreshing and not artificial.

Overall, the pricing was very fair for the quality and portion sizes. This is a spot I’ll definitely return to and confidently bring family and friends to.

Why is it that I was the only person here on a Monday for lunch?! The food was incredible! The steak hibachi was cooked to perfection and at a great price point. Wait staff kept my tea topped off and prompt. I can’t wait to try all the rest. The food was picturesque and tasted even better. Great job!

Friendly staff. Enjoyed the food. Prices and quality are comparable to other like restaurants but love that they show anime and have a theme. Would be fun to see the staff dress up too but it’s hot so i get it.
