I had the absolute worst customer service experience at this location. I would never recommend this store to anyone. The so-called manager, Mike, is unbelievably rude and completely unprofessional. He acts like he owns the place and everyone else is an inconvenience to him.
While I was still shopping and deciding on a few extra items, he started rushing me to pay, standing over me like I was taking too long, even though the store wasn’t busy. The moment he saw I was adding more things, he tried to run my card again without even explaining the charge. When I asked him why he was rushing me and trying to charge me so quickly, he got defensive and acted like I was the problem.
Mike clearly has no idea how to treat customers with basic respect. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in any store. I won’t be coming back

Elijah is the manager there and I went IN STORE to make my sandwiches and they charged me for extra bacon and still got my order COMPLETELY wrong. Though I was clear and in their faces. I would not go back to this location the customer service was horrible and refused to refund me money even though they are the ones that messed up but expected me to come back in from my home to get ANOTHER sandwich this was so disappointing

Their chicken salad sandwich is my favorite! The ingredients are super fresh and the additional avocado is served in little pieces which makes the sandwich taste amazing. And they have some live music during lunch time.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had from a Potbelly’s. The soup (loaded baked potato) was basically liquid milk. The chicken salad sandwich was so soggy and didn’t have what was directed to be on it. Same with the other sandwich and Mac n cheese—just gross. Disappointing.

I wanted to share my DISAPPOINTING experience today at Potbelly @544N. Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20887.
Potbelly used to be my favorite sandwich place for the past years, and I am not thinking to go back because of what happened:
After I got my sandwich and salad today and I went to check out. Cashier Ivonne asked what sandwich I got, so I told her “Turkey, Regular” clear and loud.
She heard me and she turned around and asked the girl who made my sandwich ” what did she get?”. And the girl confirmed what I said.
Then another customer (Caucasian, male) next to me was also at the check out. The other cashier just asked him what he got, did not ask the sandwich girl to confirm the answer, and went ahead to process his order.
After I questioned the way I was being treated differently. They threw away my salad and sandwich into the trash can in a very angry way in front of my face.
Anyone sees the problem here? I am being discriminated and treated badly. And the cashier Ivonne’s attitude was very rude and unprofessional.
I am very disappointed and Potbelly you need to find a better way to train your employees. Learn how to respect each individual equally.
BTW, I have not heard back from Ivonne’s manager Dave after I called this morning.
