First of all, the food is good here. Now, I came here yesterday on a Sunday afternoon. That means, busier than usual. The wait was averaging about 45mins. The menu was posted outside. So, I knew my partner and I were going to get 5 orders of the Shrimp noodle (In the menu called Shrimp Rice Roll), 2 orders of the Shrimp and Pork Shiu Mai, 1 of the Fried Suger Cane Shrimp, and for desert the Baked Pineapple Custard Bun. Now, when the food came out 2 to 3 plates at a time we were finishing it as quick as we could, so that nothing got cold. We were given tea, but was not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Half way through, my partner asked for a water and that was forgotten. The possible owner was getting most of the orders in. We asked a 2nd time and she got her water. This was a very small place with maybe around 12 small tables that could be moved around for larger groups. I’ve included outside pictures as well as few inside as well. Plan ahead if your in the area.

We tried a lot of different things, and each one of them was great ( except the white rice dessert was just ok) every dish here was around 6-10 dollar which was perfect for friends sharing together. We waited about 30 minutes on weekends because they don’t have much seats. The environment is cozy and clean.

I love their food. It’s clean, fresh, and seasoned well without being overdone. I’ve been to the restaurant three times already and would go back.
WARNING message coming from a caring heart: If you ever plan to visit their website, DO NOT. Do not click their website because it redirects to a sketchy-looking site, and that’s something you definitely don’t want to open on your device. I shared my concern with a gentleman named Danny and mentioned their Google Maps listing a website that is connected to a different website. He said they had purchased the restaurant three years ago and that the previous owner had the access to the website. That was all. I already reset my phone after visiting the website, submitted an edit suggestion on Google Maps, and am leaving this review. I really hope the current restaurant owner takes steps to update their online presence up-to-date by taking down the outdated url on Google Maps and Yelp, for the safety and security of their customers.

Owner has great hospitality! We did have to wait for a bit since we went on a Sunday, but line moved at a reasonable pace and was organized. Food was warm though the xiu mai skin was thicker than we wanted. Highly recommend fried shrimp dumplings and steamed BBQ pork bun 🙂 would consider go again!

We drove by and we noticed it was very small but we were extremely hungry for dim sum and it was late for dim sum. We decided to try it anyway. To our surprise, the place is clean and the food is delicious. One of the best dim sum places I’ve eaten and we’re in the heart of Monterey Park and Alhambra. This place kicked ass! Coming back again!

Hong Kong Dim Sum House — Fast, Fresh, and Flavorful!

Hong Kong Dim Sum House is like the fast-food version of a traditional dim sum restaurant — quick, convenient, and tasty. You won’t find ladies pushing carts around calling out dish names here. Instead, you order at the counter and get your dim sum freshly prepared. They also have another location in South El Monte.

The dining area at this Alhambra / San Gabriel borderline spot is quite small — about 5–6 tables total — making it ideal for grab-and-go meals or a quick dine-in lunch. Whether you’re taking your order home, back to work, or eating on the spot, the food here will hit the spot every time.

Location:
Hong Kong Dim Sum House is located inside Las Tunas Plaza on the northwest corner of Main Street (turning into Las Tunas Dr) and Mission Drive. The plaza features well-known restaurants like Labobatory, Bopomofo Café, Golden Deli, and 7-Eleven. Across the street, you’ll find Bubble Republic, and on the other side, Tea Muru sits in another plaza. You can even spot the restaurant easily from the Bridge St entrance.

Parking:
There’s a medium-sized shared parking lot for plaza tenants, but it can get busy during lunchtime. Street parking is also available if the lot fills up.

️ Food & Service:
The staff here are super friendly — the auntie who helped me was kind and very social. They offer a wide variety of dim sum, along with rice and noodle dishes. My order of three items came out in under 4 minutes, hot and fresh. Many small dim sum spots tend to serve food that’s just warm, but here everything was piping hot — a great sign of freshness and quality. The flavors were authentic and on par with the big dim sum restaurants that use carts.

⭐ Overall:
Highly recommended if you want quality dim sum without the traditional cart experience. My rating is based on food quality, flavor, and service comparing to other dim sum restaurants — all solid across the board.

Atmosphere was super fun. A co owner sat down and talked with all his customers. A warm cozy environment. Food was 10/10. Brough my mom, sister, and father who all ate until we were full. The pricing is extremely reasonable and do not underestimate the proportions ♥️

It may be small but it’s certainly mighty when it comes to Dim Sum. We travel alot and try Dim Sum whenever we can. This place is the real deal and I will be hard pressed to eat elsewhere, when we visit the LA area again. The sweet options are not your usual basics, instead sweet custard egg delights, coconut yeast buns and pineapple custard to finish off your meal. The portions are generous and right on when it comes to taste. The owner is such a sweetheart and was so attentive during our whole meal, despite brisk walk in business.
Kudos to the Dim Sum chef for his creativity. It was so good we had to grab an order for the road. What a neighborhood gem.

Very small HK style restaurant with seating capacity for 18 people. Not your typical dim sum parlor with roving carts. Modest selection and food was respectable for such a family owned business. No restrooms but they will provide a coin for access to one in the 24 hour laundromat next door.
