Entering Hinsdale prime steak, you can tell that it is a higher end restaurant. Unfortunately for me I grew up knowing only corner bakery so it will always feel cold inside to me for that reason, but for newcomers I believe they will love it. First off, I wanna get it out of the way how professional and awesome their staff is! Our waiter was a blonde male very sweet and talkative but was putting his heart and soul into taking care of us. I wish I remembered his name! For starters the bread was alright. It’s thin sliced long pieces that are somewhat warm with their special spicy ish butter which wasn’t anything special. To start, I had their roasted Caesar salad which I found quite delicious, but they could’ve definitely made the flavoring more intricate. For the mains, I got the special of the month which was steak with an onion flare and fries. The fries were thick and delicious and the steak was actually very nicely done and tender. The mash potatoes were creamy but my goodness what’s with the oil? You can see in the photo. The elote was fantastic! The desserts were underwhelming specifically the apple crumble dessert. Overall it just wasn’t enough to fully buy me over given the price but I did have an alright time here at HPS.

I had dinner with my family and it was excellent! I have the ribeye and it was cook at the perfect temperature. The sides, especially the corn, were the best compliments to the meat. I paired it with a wine that brought out the flavors of the meat. Overall, it best way to have a dinner with the family. I recommend it to everyone I know!

Hinsdale Prime is a must-visit! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere, service, and attention to detail make it a standout experience. The specialty cocktails are all freshly crafted—Eric and Alex mix some of the best drinks I’ve ever had. The food is absolutely fantastic, and Tony, the owner, even stopped by our table to check in, which made the evening feel extra special.
This place deserves to be at the top of anyone’s list, near or far. I’ll definitely be back soon—already looking forward to my next visit!

Incredible experience! Celebrated an anniversary dinner here, everyone that greeted us wished us a happy anniversary, they had a special inscription on the menu and brought us a tiny champagne toast to start.
We were seated at our reservation time. The ambience is better than expected, it’s dark, has a good vibe, and we were lucky to have a booth, so no one sitting directly next to us. They played a lot of 80s music, which wasn’t my favorite, but that’s OK.
The food was amazing! Specific recommendations are shrimp cocktail, eggplant stack salad, tuna tataki, and steak. Cocktails were delicious, wine was great, but it’s a pricey menu.
The staff was very friendly, accommodating of allergies, special requests, questions. It would be great if they offered black napkins as the white ones left lint on dark outfits.
Highly recommend if you’re looking to enjoy a special meal.

I’ve waited far too long to try Hinsdale Prime Steak!!! Everything was EXCELLENT I had their burger (omg, the cheddar cheese on it!), the gluten free strawberry bundt cake (w/ strawberry ice cream), Lychee Knees cocktail, and an espresso after dinner…. not only is the food great, but they source from local businesses in Hinsdale, as well (Ali’s gluten free bakery and Cafe La Fortuna). ANNNNNDDD they renovated place from a Corner Bakery to an upscale Steak House. I can’t recommend this place enough! HUUUUUUGGGEEE shout out to the staff as well; they were all super nice, professional, and helpful! Whoever owns this place, I tip my hat to you, sir

We celebrated my teen daughter’s birthday with a party of six and couldn’t have been happier. The private dining area was great, the food was amazing, and the service truly stood out. Everything made the evening feel special.

Hinsdale Prime Steak is truly the best of the best. The quality of the food is on another level—perfectly cooked steaks, incredible flavor, and you can tell everything is top-tier from the first bite to the last. The service is just as impressive: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. Every detail is dialed in, from the presentation to the atmosphere. If you’re looking for an elite dining experience with top-tier service and unmatched food quality, this is the place. Hands down one of the best steakhouses around.

We went here for our small 3 person office Christmas dinner with our wives for a total of 6 people. Fantastic food and service. Waiter was very helpful with his suggestions and he was definitely correct with them too. I had the Dry Aged Kansas City Strip and it was amazing!!!! Best steak I’ve ever had. My wife had the Chilean Seabass and said it was the best she has ever had also. The only dare I say complaint is that it was pretty loud. However, there did seem to be a larger Christmas party happening in the back room.

My wife and I visited Hinsdale Prime Steak for a date night after reading several glowing reviews. The location is a big plus.. right in the heart of downtown Hinsdale, which has a charming, upscale feel and is conveniently close to our home. We had made a reservation in advance.
As we entered, the ambiance was pleasant and had a nice, upscale vibe. We were greeted warmly by the hostess, but the gentleman at the front.. possibly the owner.. asked if we had a reservation in a tone that didn’t feel very welcoming. Especially considering the place was nearly empty, it felt a bit off.
We proceeded to our table. The menu was straightforward but honestly overpriced for what was being offered. We started with drinks: I ordered an Old Fashioned, and my wife had a Lychee Martini. My drink was average, but hers came with a decorative bee art on top.. visually appealing but tasted odd and not edible, which was a bit disappointing.
For appetizers, we went with the bone marrow and the wagyu meatballs. The presentation of the bone marrow was impressive, but unfortunately, that was the only good thing about it. The flavors didn’t blend well.. the combination of marrow, salad, bread, and chip just didn’t make sense. The meatballs were also forgettable and didn’t live up to the “wagyu” label.
Given how underwhelming the starters were, my wife decided to skip the main course and just ordered the Eggplant Tower salad. I chose the steak special with fries and caramelized onions. Sadly, the eggplant tower was another letdown.. it looked nice but didn’t taste good. My steak was just ordinary. Nothing special, and certainly not something I’d expect from a “prime” steakhouse.
We wrapped up the evening without ordering anything further. The one saving grace of the night was the service.. our servers were attentive, polite, and kept the table clean throughout the meal. They did their job well.
All in all, while the location and service are great, the food fell far below expectations. For the price point and the hype, we expected a much better dining experience. Unfortunately, it’s not a place we’ll be returning to.
