First time going here and definitely won’t be our last. I love the chowder with ulu ❤️ my husband got the short rib loco moco and I tried it too, and it was good! We also had the bulgogi pizza. Gotta go back to try the rest of their menu!

I finally got to try this amazing restaurant near my house, I’ve been wanting to check it out, and it did not disappoint!

I ordered the chicken and waffles, and let me tell you… probably my new favorite spot for it here in Hawaii. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the waffles were just the right amount of fluffy and sweet. My boyfriend had the short rib loco moco, and it was so tender and juicy…total comfort food perfection!

There were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try, but I eat pretty small portions, so I’ll definitely be going back. The clam chowder soup and burger are next on my list. A few people around us ordered them and they looked incredible.

This place is definitely a solid brunch spot. You do need a reservation for the regular tables, but we were seated right away at one of the high-top tables, which are first-come, first-serve. No stress at all. The staff was amazing, not just one server, but a whole tag team of four or five who all worked together seamlessly to take care of us.

The vibe is really nice too. Even though it’s attached to a grocery store, you’d never know once you’re inside.

Overall, 10/10, can’t wait to come back!

Really enjoyed this place. Celebrated my father’s birthday with family for breakfast. The service was really great and the waiter was really personable. Gave us great recommendations. We got an assortment of dishes and drinks. I got the mochi waffles which were really good. The house made butter whip cream and blueberry sauce was so good. The family also got the breakfast bowl, beet salad, and loco moco.

We had a wonderful celebratory dinner here at et al. It was our first time here and the restaurant is beautiful with high ceilings and nice decor. They sort of share the store-front with foodland, but they are their own restaurant so you don’t even remotely feel like you’re eating in a supermarket.

We got a chopped salad, brined pork chops, a kids cheese pizza, and a braised short rib loco moco. Everything was perfect! Service was excellent as well.

We will definitely be back here!

Every time I come here, it’s a great experience. The service is excellent and very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The food is amazing and very curated with a local twist. Every dish has an element that is a little unique and special. Atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. I think that the decor, upholstered seating, and beautiful plate ware adds to the overall ambience, which sometimes is hard to find here in Hawaii. I always think this is a local restaurant that is doing everything right. We will be back many many times more!

Came in for brunch before departing for mainland. All food ordered was excellent! Ordered Mochi Pancakes, Power Bowl, Risotto, and Cup of Chowder. Presentation and taste was excellent. Josh was our server and he was so nice and accommodating. Overall a great experience and highly recommend if in the Kahala area! Mahalo!

We decided to have dinner with friends and My friend chose et al because of its aesthetics. I also really liked the design of this restaurant. I ordered risotto with mushrooms, but I didn’t like it, it was very sour and I think the price of $24 is high. A friend ordered a burger and liked it. Another Friend ordered Alfredo pasta and she was also pleased. Other friends ordered 2 types of different pizzas and everyone liked one of them, I don’t remember what it’s called, but I remember it had caramelized kimchi. I think I need to come back here again and try something else.

The restaurant is located inside a grocery store. Very nice atmosphere, but the food is mediocre at best. The ahi tartar was very sad. The grilled kanpachi was extremely salty. Our waiter asked if we wanted to take the fish back home, but we declined and told her the dish was too salty to finish. We will not be going back anytime soon.

Really enjoyable solo brunch at et. al. Server Shay was attentive without hovering and was quick to ensure I understood the Benedicts was a full softshell crab instead of a crab cake like I mistakenly said (great catch!). Needless to say impeccable service and a lovely new venue. Great architecture but surprising not loud even though there are a lot of hard surfaces. On to the food! Food was right temp when it arrived. Hash browns were crispy and seasoned with thyme making them fragrant and well above average. Taro muffin was very good but a little too much bread for the ratio (would have been perfect if cut in half and toasted). Too much arugula that I have to scrap off half and assembly was a little lopped sided with tomato and avacado on one side and arugula on the other. Once I did a little reassembly, the overall flavor was very good. Probably would not order again but would definitely order something that includes the hash browns (surprising since I RARELY order hash browns).
