Nina’s Taqueria is in Cameron Park, CA, off Green Valley Road and Cameron Park Drive. Besides being a taqueria, they have a meat counter, pan dulce bakery counter, and Mexican based grocery staples. How awesome is that?!? Super awesome!! Adding some international diversity in Cameron Park.

I’m bumping up my rating. During peak dining times, the wait time for the taqueria orders have gotten significantly better thus the increased rating. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming.

The food is pretty darn good. The menu items are diverse. Two crispy tacos are$9.99 and street tacos are $3.70. A side of chips n salsa $3.50. Menudo ($14.99) is served everyday, not just on the weekends. As a meat choice for the street tacos, they have bucha which not a lot of local taquerias carry that on their menu.

They expanded their shopfront and have a very small but mighty inventory of grocery staples. The Inventory included gallon milk and fresh produce of: cilantro, jalapeño peppers, roma tomatoes, tomatillos, lemons, and limes. They still have pan dulce (Mexican pastries). But it’s not self serve anymore. The pastries are behind a counter that is accessed only by employees. Plus there are no pricing listed which would be helpful to have marked versus asking staff the pricing to the various pastries. The pastry counter is not staffed, so I had to wait at the register next to the pastry counter until staff came over.

What a cute little store/restaurant! The portions were huge and so good. There was a little bit of a language barrier but the food was worth it

Authentic Mexican food presented as either a market for packaged or deli style fresh food, or prepared offerings a la Taqueria style. This was my first visit, midday Monday. A bit longer wait time than I expected for my food to arrive. No salsa bar or fountain drink machine, order salsa when placing your food order at counter. And get your bottled drink from the cooler; if you want chips you pay for ’em. Food brought to the table. Nina’s has been in operation for about one year still with a limited provisional menu which is set to expand soon. I look forward to their plan to add outdoor seating when the winter weather passes. I’ll be back then to try something different as my Super Burrito Carnitas wasn’t super, just O.K. After my next visit I’ll update this review, hopefully adding another star or two.

The atmosphere feels like you’re stepping into Mexico. The service is phenomenal. And the food is delicious. It’s also a bakery, meat market, and store.

I’ve been twice, and each time, the service has been impeccable. The atmosphere is perfect for a small town market and the food is to die for. I highly recommend the burrito with the hot cheetoes in it. If you’ve never been, stop by the next time you drive by; you will not be disappointed.

The menu isn’t large, but everything I’ve had off of it is great. Usually we get the street tacos or burritos. Tonight I got the carne asada fries and the other plates are crunchy tacos…everything was delicious and none of us have had any complaints in a half dozen trips. They also have beer now for those days/nights when the brewery next door isn’t open.
