Who doesn’t love the Bitter Monk? My gosh, it’s a gem in the heart of McMinnville! Tucked away at the intersection of 3rd and Cowls, it is centrally located in downtown McMinnville.
We discovered the Bitter Monk through a friend who lives locally. At his recommendation, we visited for the first time about a year ago. This weekend was the third time we’ve returned. This weekend they were hosting the Wonderland Brew Fest. Live music, at least 30 different brews to chose from, wonderful local pretzel vendor, and a food truck! Absolute heaven!
McMinnville is a little piece of heaven just south of Portland… The Bitter Monk makes it just a little more perfect! If you’re ever nearby, stop in and enjoy a lovely brew. Becky and her team are absolutely the best! We look forward to returning again soon!

My wife and I always have a great experience at The Bitter Monk. Their tap list is small, which keeps the beer fresh and the selection always changing. They have the best (and very reasonably priced) canned beer selection within an hour drive of Mac, so it’s a great place to pop in for a few cans to go too!

A local treasure for beer lovers. Light wood paneling inside makes a cozy, vaguely Scandinavian vibe, and the outdoor seating is fabulous when the weather is cooperative. In my experience they usually have wine, or other options, available if you’re not into beer at the moment. The staff are good people and the music is worthy, I’m usually inspired to Shazam something while I’m there. My favorite = playing board games inside on a rainy afternoon.

The Bitter Monk has an excellent selection of bottled beers, in addition to a very good list of beers on tap. There is no food available, hence my not rating it.

I’ve been going here since they opened. Wonderful staff with a good beer selection on tap and in bottle/can. Great place to go hang with a friend and enjoy a variety of a few drinks. The staff are knowledgeable about the beer you can order.

If you want a good brew, Becky is there to serve you up with knowledge and friendliness! There’s always a few Stout’s on tap and in the 2go fridge. Would definitely love to see more Stout’s on tap though. Overall a great tap house!
