I order from this P. Terry’s all the time and rarely have problems. Tonight, I placed a delivery order for my mom through the P. Terry’s website, which uses a third-party service. When the order was marked as “delivered,” my mom opened the door and the food was nowhere to be found.
The website instructs customers to call the restaurant if there are delivery issues, so I did. The manager on site was immediately dismissive and continuously talked over me while I tried to explain that I don’t have access to the third-party delivery information. I even had to ask her to stop talking over me just so I could explain that the website doesn’t provide that information, which is WHY customers are told to call the restaurant. After multiple attempts to be understood, she rushed me off the phone and said she would try to figure out what happened.
About 25 minutes later, my mom found the food delivered to a neighbor’s house. Since I was under the impression that the manager was still trying to figure out what had happened, I called back simply to let her know the issue had been resolved so no one would continue working on it unnecessarily. Before I could explain why I was calling or get a single word out, I was met with attitude and told, “We’re really busy, you need to wait. I said I’d get back to you.
I calmly de-escalated the situation and let her know the food had been found. I also shared how disappointed I was in her customer service and lack of consideration for paying customers.
I rarely write reviews, especially for a location I frequent and have never had issues with before. But this experience was unnecessarily frustrating, and I think it’s important for others to know what they may be met with if they need to raise a concern at this location.
However, the pricing here is inconsistent, and as a principle, I find this unacceptable. (In the most lighthearted of ways, but also seriously.) The single hamburger costs 2.85. The single cheeseburger costs 3.45. By this reckoning, P. Terry’s is valuing the price of cheese at 60 cents. The double cheeseburger costs 4.85. I asked for a double hamburger and they charged me the 2.85 for the burger plus 2.05 for extra meat. This comes to 4.90. This is obviously not an insane amount to pay for a burger, but that is not my point. My point is that a double hamburger somehow costs 5 cents more than a double cheeseburger, when the cheeseburger comes with more, namely two slices of cheese. Which, according to the difference in price between a single hamburger and a single cheeseburger, should be valued at 1.20. This means that a double burger should be 3.65. Tbh, I don’t care how much you charge for cheese, I just have a problem with inconsistency in pricing, and that a double burger without cheese somehow costs more than a double burger with cheese.
I rest my case.
