It’s not. High end restaurant but it was a nice surprise in the “middle of nowhere.” My family had the Horseshoe half pound burger grilled cheese, and the half pound burger (?) and I had the Ultimate Burrito…beef was so fresh and good. If we come this way ever again would definitely stop by again.

As we walked in, we inquired if there was enough time to serve us. The time difference messed us up. It was 20 minutes to close. We were welcomed in and served a great meal. It was quick and delicious. We got the ultimate burrito and the Thursday enchilada special. Our bellies were full so we got the the lasagna cake to go. We recommend this cafe for the traveler who wants a good meal. Bonus was a good conversation with the staff.

I wish I could give this place a way higher rating. This is definitely a little hole in the wall place but it was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable. The food was fantastic. The staff was friendly and they even let me bring my cats inside (they stayed in their carriers, on the floor)
I will most definitely be back and I will recommend this place to anyone who travels through.

Coming through from indiana to visit our kids in Colorado Springs and we were starving. No where to eat for miles and up pooped this gem! Mom and pop owned and he was born in evansville IN where we are from. Small world. Food was amazing including hand patties for burgers and hand cut fries. Must stop of near there at all.

All I can say is… WOW! What an incredibly unexpected dining experience! Unmistakably offering delicious, high quality ingredients, a medley of exciting flavors and an array of mouth watering items to choose from. The prices were so reasonable and easy on the pocket that you would not expect to find this quality and atmosphere along this small town Hwy 40 in Winona- a town of less than 200 from what I’ve been told.

I had the Bang Bang Chicken Salad. My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with Tatter tots. It was obvious from the presentation as well as the first bite that the ingredients are fresh and the Chicken was plump and tender. The sauce was so good on the Chicken- I did not need any dressing- I would suggest just extra bang bang sauce if preferred! We also ordered the Spicy Fried Pickles and Jalapeño Bottle caps THE BEST fried pickles. WOW! The fried items were flavorful and NOT GREASY which makes them even better.

To top off our dining experience- It’s a wonderful warm atmosphere inside and out. Family dining with warm hospitality from owners, staff and patrons. The owner is the chef and happy to engage in conversation as well as share his crafting genius in choosing and creating the menu items. Gosh! I just can’t say enough about this wonderful little cafe! Make sure to stop by and enjoy the experience and be sure to share- this little cafe deserves EVERY ACCOLADE! Even if your far from Winona, I promise you the food and small town experience will be well worth the detour to get here!

My wife and I stopped by and would highly recommend! We live in Missouri so we are sad this is all of the way in Winona, but if anyone gets the chance, you must stop! The prices were super affordable, the were fast, kind, the food was fresh and they were very hospitable! Awesome experience!

If you ever come across this place, DO NOT DRIVE BY. Make sure you stop in and try everything you can. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and their made to order hand cut fries, which was perfect in every aspect. The gentleman sitting in front of me was having a perfectly cooked steak. This cozy place was bustling with friendly locals and everyone knew each other. The waitress’s daughter was sitting at the bar and she was greeting everyone and saying goodbye to all that was leaving. Before I was about to leave I overheard the owner state that he used to work somewhere where they made pies so I definitely had to order a piece of peanut butter pie to go and I’m glad I did cause that was the best piece of pie I ever had. I definitely tip my hat to everyone there who made that lunch a very unforgettable stop on my travels. And if you do stop in just don’t forget to tip their awesome waitress. Thanks

This cafe is the BEST place to stop. We drove through 4 towns with food just so we could give this gem a try. Food was deliciously amazing and the chocolate lasagna was out of this world! Will definitely hit them up every time I’m road tripping and try something new! YUM!!!

Truly astounding to find food this good in the middle of nowhere. We only stopped in because it was next to our motel and because they have an outdoor dining area. (road trip with dog) Oh, my! The patty melt and hamburger were unparalleled anywhere. Fresh Kansas beef. Never frozen, the server said. Seared on a grill. Simply the best. The homemade french fries! Stuff of dreams. I also loved the homemade ranch dressing on my salad and pie for dessert. Add a cold beer and you’ll never eat better, anywhere. It was so good, we routed our trip to return the same way so we could stop in again. My only regret was not trying the Sunday special instead of a repeat burger. Next time, Winona!
