I really wanted to leave a fabulous review. It was super busy, so I figured they must have good food. I was wrong.
The rice, chow mein, and beef with broccoli was kind of bland. The egg rolls weren’t that great. The sweet and sour chicken was okay. The honey garlic chicken was good.
My reheated Chinese food that I brought home from Halifax was better. I think I’ll only be getting Chinese food when I’m in Halifax going forward.

I really tried hard to enjoy dining out here tonight but the service was just disappointing.
“Greeted” at the door kinda and sat right at the worst table possible…so much noise and traffic by us. Our server walked to our table and snapped “need more time?” …not even a hello, how are you doing, NO greeting. So that was a terrible way to start.
So we got our food. Looked good but was kinda cold…the sign says no heat lamps used but it had obviously sat for a few minutes before being brought out by a different server. The flavor was good in the cherry sauce, enjoyed the rice but the rest was blah. The beef and broccoli had the stock cut up in it…ewww. We got slings and they were mixed differently and had a weird taste. I was done eating by the time a check in was done, so no point mentioning anything wrong then…though we were walked by plenty on the way to their cash behind us.
Anyway, won’t be back as I just couldn’t get over how rude the service was. They obviously know how to be nice as both servers were pleasant to their regulars. And it wasn’t like I was rude…my friend and I were very polite and friendly and even tipped.

So after looking at the menu online via Google, I decided to call in 2 orders of egg foo young. One veritable and one chicken. As well as the veggie combo. According to the online menu as you can see here, that should have come to $32 plus tax I thought. So you can understand my surprise when I came to pick it up and the nice young lady said “That will be $46 please”
That was quite a bit more than I expected for 3 very simple dishes. A few eggs, tiny bit of veggies, (was there chicken? I didn’t notice any), some instant rice and some gravy. I pointed out the menu online and all I got was “that’s old, this is the new one.”
As far as I’m concerned, it’s false advertising and I should have paid these prices and they should have fixed the problem. I wonder how many others have been duped this way?
I know the old owners would have never let this happen. Also, those are some pretty hefty price hikes! Pretty shady.

I recommend this dining spot. The service was down home friendly. There were many takeouts while we dined. Popular. We see why – the food was hot, so good tasting, well presented, ideal serving size. The glass of water was served in a stem glass. Sadly, the water had a chlorine taste, but the lemon helped a bit. Filtered water would be a real bonus for the meal. The waiting time was optimal. Great location in taking a break from shopping. We will definitely return with friends. Thank you, Egg Roll King, Bridgewater.

We started to eat at Egg Roll King 2 years ago.
We would order food about once a month/6 weeks or so.
BUT !!!
I am sorry to say that tonight we ordered our usual food, and we were told that they no longer make Soo Guy OR Lemon Chicken!!! So our usual delicious dinner was transformed into a disappointing meal, at best. Chicken balls were substituted for
Lemon Chicken & tempura sweet n sour chicken was substituted for Soo Guy. YUCH!!! The Ginger Beef was ho hum blah…. it came with a container of spicy sauce, which should’ve been cooked WITH the beef!!!!
Not only that, the price for the Chicken balls was $21.50. & the menu still has Lemon Chicken and Soo Guy listed, both online and on the ‘new’ paper menu, for $16.50. ….
They are NOT ECONOMICAL, ..
We won’t be back.
Unless they reinstate what WE want to eat,
Lemon Chicken and Soo Guy, even if it’s more $.
So, I guess we’ll be going back to Koh’s. (We ate there once.)

Came in at 7pm tonight- the employees were all in the back and nobody at front. The restaurant was empty except for a couple. We were really hungry and the sign said that kitchen closed at 7:30 and restaurant at 8. The lady didn’t say hello and was upset to see us it seems. We asked her if they were closed and she sighed- as if we were bothering her. We left disappointed and unfortunately we won’t be coming back. We told our friends about this experience and they said they were not surprised. We were given other recommendations for Chinese food.

The food here is Terrible! The rice was dry and had no flavor. The Wonton soup is full of cabbage. I am pretty sure the sweet and sour chicken balls are chicken nuggets from the grocery store. And to top it off. They are called the Egg Roll King but forgot our egg rolls!
