This place was packed on a Sunday during lunch time! The buffet was delicious! There was plenty of food and many choices to choose from. Our waitress Sandy was great! She always kept our glasses filled and checked in on us even though the place was packed.
The only complaint I have is the flooded women’s bathroom. I’m not sure what flooded, but it was very unsanitary and disturbing for someone in a long skirt and sandals. An employee did come in to check out what the problem was while I was drying my hands. That is a plus! I hope they got the problem resolved.

It’s a little busy at noon on Sunday, but that’s to be expected. Our server, Lisa, was fantastic! Very friendly and prompt with refils. The food was fresh and hot. My mom and I will definitely be back. (Just maybe not on a Sunday.. lol) Have patience with your wait staff, cooks, hostess, and bus staff. They’re all working very hard. Appreciate that hard work with kindness.

We come here often. The people that work there are always so sweet. The girls are great at keeping your table clean and your drinks full. We have had Lori, Jen, one sweetheart who recently had surgery (I cannot remember her name) and Recently Summer. Summer is a riot. She had us feeling like we were at home, it was a bit slow, so she had time for a little conversation. It is always a nice time there. Oh.. cannot forget, the fried chicken is amazing, paired with the best mashed potatoes and brown gravy… that is all I go for. Salad bar is amazing as well. Buffets are not really our jam anymore since most have gone downhill , but this GC is truly the BEST. We are there at least once a week. I wish I could give 10 stars.

My grandparents love this place. The food is usually good but there have been some lackluster cases. Service is great. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a golden corral. The atmosphere is colder during the day but warmer at night. There could definitely be some better management choices. The staff are extremely friendly and I can’t stress that enough.

I’m from the Midwest and was with my father on a road trip. It’s rare to see a GC in such good shape.
The food was stellar. The steak is perfectly cooked, tender, and tasty. All other food items were fresh and made well. The salad bar was excellent and food quality was amazing.
The desert bar was great. The selections were down a bit but still good.
My father ate so well and our time here was epic. It’s was good to see him him here eating.
The staff was friendly and efficient. They were happy in most cases to be there. Our server was a caring person. She did her job with a professional and good demeanor.
It was packed here. So packed. That’s always a great sign.
It was clean here… very clean. The restrooms were also kept up.

Oh dont get me started. You know what its all about! If you think for one second you are going to leave this place without unbuckling your belts and pants then you are highly deceived! Best butter rolls, best steak and chicken Cluck Cluck, straight up smack yo mama in the mouth with a bowl of that mac n cheese, mm mm tastin so good I cant even drive home good! Yes you heard me loud and clear this is by far the best Golden Corral in Shelby! Go get your bellies full! NOW!

Been eating in Shelby Golden corral for 26 years. Absolutely the worst experience ever. At 6:30 acting as though trying to close. Dessert was all stale. Man that cooks steaks wasn’t pleasant, for the second visit. Probably not planning to return, it was extremely disappointing. Take our money somewhere else.

Update tried GC again and the food continues to get worse. They have changed distributors for food. Nothing taste good or it’s burnt.
The food was dry and horrible! Almost everything has changed. This will be the last time we spend our money here. The Cesar dressing was pure vinegar. Too many things to list as a bad experience.

Tasty Treat
It was great. I appreciated the gloves they provided for the buffet and the new policy that allows the server to bring your silverware to the table instead of customers just grabbing it from the bins. The staff was really nice from the cashier, the waiter, to the line servers. As always, the food was good. — 2022

Tonight me & my family come to eat (5) of us which cost us $102.91 the food is disgusting! The service is not that great like all you have to do is get us drinks & you can’t even get that right. The ice cream machine is broke I almost felt like I was at McDonald’s! For this price & considering how busy it is the food should be good & FRESH but it’s not it taste like someone cooked it yesterday & heated it back up today! Do better OR cut your prices of the buffet!!!!!!!
