This is location on west Franklin. This place is hit or miss. Sometimes you get hot food sometimes it’s just not. Sometimes your order is correct, most of the time it’s not. Since their reconfiguration of the inside of the restaurant being less customer friendly the service has become poor. Unlike the days of old where McDonalds employees use to stand at attention to take your order soon as you walk through the door now their back is facing you and almost always there’s nobody immediately available to help. You pretty much just have to stand there until somebody turns around and looks your way. They really need to change this setup slightly. This Walmart-ish style of customer service where there’s little help and your checking yourself out is very unbecoming in a supposedly fast food place. This works at Taco Bell where most of the customers are younger and don’t really care for the personal interaction but not so much at McDonalds where you have a mixed age crowd and sometimes the older people still need assistance. They need to have at least 1 and at busy times 2 people dedicated to helping customers 100% or they too will start to loose customers. I’m sure they already have…. McDonald’s tastes the same anywhere you go in the United States, you only taste a difference if you’ve eaten it outside of the US where it does taste different.

I asked for a simple cheeseburger with extra onions and what I got was a mountain of onions piled on so bad it was inedible. That’s not extra, that’s just nasty. Completely careless, rude, and unprofessional. Wish I could upload the video of this burger it’s worse . What cook was working 10/04/25 @1:36 am ?

Standard McDonald’s. Food is average mostly because sometimes hot sometimes not kinda thing. The staff are as friendly as they have to be to get you out of the drive thru window. My suggestion would be make sure food is hot. And please have the staff be a little more careful with food. My biscuit today was in pieces. Tasted good but had to eat it in pieces.

Usually the service is somewhat decent, slow but decent. The food is hit or miss. This morning I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. I put an order in online for a mocha coffee at 3:50 am and had just enough time to get my coffee that was preordered and prepaid before having to clock back in from my lunch break. When I pulled up to the speaker the attendant rattled off something so fast I could not even understand what she was saying. I believe it was something about switching from dinner to breakfast and told me I’d have to wait 10 minutes before they could take my order. Uuugh! So I had to yell to let her know I had an online order. She then told me all their systems were down and couldn’t do anything and to pull over and wait. I explained I couldn’t wait and needed a refund. She told me I had to go to the app to request one. Well guess what? That was FALSE INFORMATION. The app does not give refunds! You HAVE TO get it from the store! I think she knew this but just didn’t want to deal with the refund process. I really didn’t have time anyway, but I’m out $4 now with no way to recoup unless I sit in their line for 15 minutes when I get off work at 7:30 am. I tried cancelling my order but I got a message that they were already preparing my order. How can they be preparing my order? That’s an automatic message and you know it! McDonalds, get it together! If you KNOW your systems are down at changeover don’t allow orders at that time! I could have gone to the restaurant up the street that truly is open 24 hours! And that’s exactly what I will be doing from now on. I figured your coffee would be better, but I KNOW their food is better anyway. Bye!

1/2026 Update: I did get a refund without having to return to the store. It seems my original one star review got their attention. So, for that, I have changed my review to three stars, making it on the positive side of the rating scale. I have since visited here but no outstandingly good or bad service.

They have about 20 homeless people living at the property, they stay behind their dumpsters and fences. It’s a complete mess that they never call the cops for loitering and their entrance looks like a jungle because they never do their lawn, it even has carts, trash and sometimes clothes hanging.

Food on all tables and in floor, trash cans was so full customers had to leave their trash on the table. Sat here for 1 hour and saw at least 8 employees go by the trashcan and not empty it or clear trash. Asked for a clean table and employee only cleaned one instead of all tables. Still leaving a mess everywhere! You now have to have an employee push a button to let you in the restroom but there is no sign stating this. Employees do not greet customers with a smile or anything. And on top of all of that the employee locked the doors at 9:50 pm when it is a 24 hour restaurant and at the very earliest should at least stay open til 11p as it states on the internet before they became a 24 hour restaurant. Also I counted 11 employees in this store if not more and over half of them were sitting in the lobby on their phones or on their phones behind counter. There are some friendly good employees here but not nearly enough.

I wish I could give zero stars this McDonald’s is horrible I ordered an order online and sat in the drive thru for 25 min and then when I went in to get my food there were about 7-8 people in there with the same issues. Then when I got my food the whole order was wrong and I was missing items. Then when I was asking about my food they dint even know what I ordered plus I got no silverware or syrup for my pancakes this is the worst McDonald’s ever.

Don’t ever go here if u want good fast food I waited a total of a hour and a half yesterday a bunch of people was there getting mad ab there orders people who came in there way after me got there orders way faster just cause they was mad and couldn’t wait so finally after a hour and a half I talked to the manager then he said he didn’t even have my order in the system so I gotta refund and left his name was Steven worst manger I’ve ever seen he was really slow and wasn’t helping anyone js making everyone mad half the people there got a refund and left and horrible customer service was yelling at this one employee because she was tryna help go in the back and make orders and said she couldn’t do it my god she was tryna help long story short don’t ever go to this McDonalds it’s by far the worst in Gaston county

Parking everyone at drive thru and not letting is know when we are ordering so we can go elsewhere and not be late. Food wise it is McDonalds. Sometimes good sometimes not!

The black lady with orange hair at the pick up was very rude and unprofessional. I ordered a large strawberry smoothies and my drink was halfway full. Tell me why she’s adamant that’s a large drink. No lady, I’ve had plenty of McDonald’s strawberries smoothie, so to tell me a half-ass full cup is a large is ridiculous. She was than cursing to her coworker about me. Instead of making it seem like it’s the customer’s fault, own up to it and fix the problem. McDonald needs to hire better people.
