She brought out our drinks shortly afterwards and then these amazing cheese biscuits. After sitting for a while she came out and apologized as the kitchen was behind and it was going to take a bit longer. A little while later she came back out with another basket of cheese biscuits apologizing yet again for the time the kitchen was taking. She filled drinks when she noticed they were empty and also offered a free desert after the meal knowing we inquired about a good key lime pie.
Our meal eventually arrived, although it took probably twice as long as average, but we were in no hurry and nowhere we needed to go so enjoyed the time.
My wife loved her brisket and large shared potatoe and my somewhat spicy sausage was a good choice. Although everyone has different tastes we were not fond of the potatoe salad or coleslaw.
Just prior to finishing she brought out another refill and her favorite Lemon Ice Box Pie. Although they didnt have a key lime, the lemon pie was outstanding as was our waitress!
We will definitely go back!
Immediately at drive-thru sat for 20 minutes then was greeted by a young woman through the intercom that was abrupt; rude; and very snippy… I ordered the $25.99 Brisket meal and asked if they could do mixed lean and fatty and she about lost it telling me in a rude way “NO, you can ONLY do lean OR marbled. ONE or the other” like I was asking them make me a super complex item that was off menu and would take them 4 hours to do instead of 1-2 additional slices with a knife… but I was hungry so I continued my order… I got mac n cheese and coleslaw and added 6 cheesy muffins… thinking, muffin like a KFC biscuit…
What i get instead: 6 mini-cupcake cornbread “muffins” with trace amounts of cheese… which there is an EXTREMELY big difference between muffins and mini-cupcake muffins… they were cold, barely a bite each, and taste like jiffy cornbread mix with government cheese mixed in…
I try the brisket which… is burnt, way over seasoned, and dry as the Sahara desert (extra disappointed because i got the marbled ((or for regular people, fatty) brisket…) and what appeared to be less than 1/4 lb of it for $25.99, 2 bites and it was gone… thicker seasoning crust on it than the earth’s mantle…
The sides? Any BBQ place ive been to before when you order a meal and get sides you get 1/2 a cup… here you get 1/4 cup… super small sides especially for the ridiculous prices…
The mac and cheese was mediocre and super oily because instead of seasoning they over compensate with huge amounts of discount shredded cheese… coleslaw tastes on the verge of going bad and way too much sauce with no seasoning…
And going through drive-thru, they didn’t give any napkins; silverware/cutlery, nothing… but surely will hand you a receipt and pen requiring you to sign it and have the gall to put a tip request on it…
Next time ill make the extra 30 minute drive to Melvins in Mount Pleasant… absolutely abhorrent experience for Jim ‘n Nick’s and 10000000000% will never go back here…
