Croaker’s Spot is a a laidback, easy going restaurant that works hard to keep customers fed and happy. Chocolate, my server, was amazing. I ordered the shrimp and scallops and was not disappointed. The steamed cabbage was ok. The collard were fantastic. I replaced the cabbage with the candied yams as suggested by Chocolate – they were good. The cornbread was slightly sweet and had a cake like texture – this all worked for me. I could easily see consuming the candied yams and cornbread as dessert. I tried the limeade. Next time I’ll try the lemonade (yes, I hope to return).
Portions are sizeable. I took half my plate with me – a delicious lunch the following day.
If my maternal grandmother were alive she would’ve approved of this meal.

The food was fresh and delicious and big portions. The waiter Tanisha was so friendly and professional. The atmosphere was family oriented Sunday dinner vibes . The parking was meh but worth it completely!! Will definitely be coming back for more . A+

First time coming to the current Petersburg location and it’s BEAUTIFUL! Our server Mark was AWESOME! Very personable, knowledgeable, quick, accurate, patient, and attentive. Because of him I will be coming back. The food was good but the crab cake was not worth the money. It was incredibly fishy and mushy.Food portions were large. Drinks were strong but not too strong. I would rate this place a solid 4.8 out of 5. My over all experience was wonderful and I will be back.

We stood at the houses just waiting to be seated for several moments and no one came to assist us. Walked up to a server and she sent us in her section and assisted us for the evening. Kelsey was attentive and helpful.
Salmon cakes were a little undercooked inside, but had a nice crisp on the outside. The cabbage was cooked to a nice texture, but the season was mainly pepper. The grits were very thick. The cornbread was nice and moist. Blackened chicken, nice and moist. Collard greens just missed the spot.
The Uptown (half tea & half lemonade) was flavorful.
The ambience was nice and I would like to return and try different items on the menu.

All the food is spectacular! Went on a busy night but the wait was not too long. All staff is always so friendly. Large portions and allow substitutions!

My husband and I stopped here while we were passing through. Let me start with the best parts we were greeted when we entered and seated.The server we had name was Mark. He was fantastic excellent customer service. He really knew how to interact with customers explaining the menu and extremely professional.. The food was really good. The server explained that everything was made fresh so there would be a little bit of a wait which I appreciated him telling us so that we did not feel like we were forgotten about.. when the food came out, it was definitely worth waiting for. I had the three-piece fish boat and my husband had cheesy chicken. It was all very, very good.The cornbread was off the chart delicious my favorite. Now two things I would like to offer as a suggestion for improvement #1 it would be really cool if perhaps you had tic-tac-toe or checkers painted on the table. That way customers could play the game and it will occupy their time until the food comes out. And lastly, my husband is a military veteran and we showed his ID to our server and he replied “thank you for your service”which was great but a lady came back with him perhaps the manager, and asked to see the ID again, as if they didn’t trust their worker that was a little unsettling. she looked at it and then walked away. They did give us the discount, but she never said anything about why she had to come to double check. that was the only small issue other than that this restaurant is so very good and I will come back anytime I’m in town..

Went to pick my food up and this was my first time going. Ordered my food about 7:20pm , took an hour to get my food and the manager gave it too me at 8:35pm. Guess the young lady that took my order didn’t want to bring it since it had been so long. I told the manager and she said nothing, just kept saying I apologize and standing there. Got home my food was cold. This was a very bad experience for me.. didn’t eat till the next day

This place never let me down. Kayla was very attentive from beginning to end. I got the crab stuffed salon and it was cooked to perfection. You can taste the crab meat and the salmon. Drinks were on point! Will definitely be revisiting. Awesome experience.

Absolutely love this place. The food is SO GOOD. We have been twice with friends, group of 4 the first time and a group of 7 the second time. Ordered the buffalo shrimp for appetizer both times. I personally have had the fried catfish and the crabcakes, loved them both! Yams, Mac and cheese, cabbage, mashed potatoes…all delicious. The cornbread…AMAZING.
