Utterly amazing food. I got the By the Bay Shrimp Mac N’ Cheese and my daughter for the BBQ Bacon Burger Mac N’ Cheese. The Mac is rich and creamy, the shrimp was delicious and the didn’tskim on how much they put in. Great portion sizes, which makes the slightly higher price tags worth it. The restaurant itself is a tiny hole in the wall with not much atmosphere to it but the food more than makes up for that. Highly recommend to anyone passing through, as well as locals whom haven’t tried it yet. With so many different dishes, I can’t wait to go back and try a different one!

Saw this place driving by and HAD to loop back around to try it. We got the BBQ chicken and the Garlic Parmesan chicken, and when I tell you we drove back home 20 mins and these bowls were still so hot I had to blow on each bite!! Never in my life have I had takeout that stayed that hot! The flavor profile was perfect, not too salty, not too spicy, and none of that artifical faux “cheesy” flavor. Just good old fashioned loads of melty, delicious cheese. Service was excellent, and the folks had our food out to us fresh within 15 mins. We absolutely will be returning many times in the future!

This popped up on my IG so I had to try it out. I was not disappointed!!! The Mac & Cheese by itself was fantastic. It was made even better when combined with the shrimp. If you read the other reviews, believe when they say it’s hot. The cool people working the counter asked me if I wanted a bag too! I was like, “Nah, I’m good.” I ended up using my wallet as a trivet. I will definitely be going back!

3 stars for the food. My husband and I have been seeing this place pop up in our TikTok and Instagram feeds so we decided to give it a try, plus we live about 10 minutes away and pass it often.
This has got to be the hottest meal we’ve ever received for take out. 30 minutes later it’s still steaming hot and burning our mouths. But that’s a good thing! No one wants cold food!
We enjoyed our Mac’s and definitely would stop by again but were hesitant because customer service here is practically nonexistent.
Now the bad..
Matt, whatever young girl was working on 10/9/25 at 2:20pm needs some talking to. Not friendly or helpful in the slightest. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t want to work and doesn’t want customers coming in.
Upon entering she was slouched sitting down slumped in her chair just barely seen behind the counter. She looked disappointed that we came in. We said hello and she didn’t say anything back. Not a welcome, not a hello, not a smile, just like she doesn’t want customers. She immediately stared down at the floor and continued to do so as we quickly looked at the menus as we waited to be spoken to, although we were prepared and knew what we wanted to order. I wasn’t even sure she was an employee at this point.
We stood and waited for her to ask how she could help us or if we were ready to order. Not a peep out of this girl. Just staring down at the floor. After a few minutes I finally asked if she was the one who would take our order and she said yes. Then continued to look down. I asked if she was ready, this girl gives zero eye contact, she was obsessed with staring at the floor.
I placed an order asking if I could omit an ingredient. Not a peep from her. My husband ordered. She then spun the tablet around to show us our order. Nothing on it showed anything about what I asked to leave off so I asked again. She quietly said “it’s in the notes”. We paid and she ran to the back. No mention of how long the wait would be, or have a seat and make ourselves comfortable, no nothing. When the food was ready she sure could speak up fine to notify us because it was clear she wanted us gone.
Are customers wanted here? This must be why every time we drive past the parking lot is empty.
I hope there are better employees than this. We’d love to try again since our food was good but we truly did not feel welcome.

The Mac. Was FANTASTIC. Had me doing that Keith Lee eye roll when the flavor hit! Creamy, seasoned right, perfect texture. I got the Cajun Mac, and it was so good I stopped halfway just so I could run it back for breakfast. You hear me? BREAK-FAST.
A stranger put me on to this spot, and I’m glad I listened. I’m from the Raleigh-Durham, NC area, and I’m already planning to swing back through Newport News in November just to get another bowl. Great customer service, even better Macs.

I’m visiting family and ordered the White Cheddar Trio for dinner. It was delicious! I ordered the double size and it was more than enough for two people for dinner. It had great flavor – you could taste multiple cheese flavors in it. It was super cheesy and gooey – just like you would want it. The bread crumbs and cheese on top were a nice touch – and there was enough to spread the toppings over several helpings. The service was also fantastic. I stopped in about 40 minutes before closing, so they were cleaning up the seating area for the night but stopped to serve me. The food was ready really fast (less than 5 minutes) and it was piping hot. Easy to pay – next time I might order ahead of time to try that out. They had a handful of kinds of sodas and desserts in their cooler if you were staying there or wanted something else besides the main course as well. definitely recommend! can’t wait to try again on my next visit to the area. The small dining area both inside and outside were perfect for a quick bite as well.

I got stuffed with a few bites. I got the shrimp mac and the bulgogi mac. The shrimp mac tasted like popcorn with its combination of seasoned shrimp and meaty cheese. Just wish there was more shrimp in it. Than just on top. The bulgogi mac was delicious as well. The one thing that threw me off was the wa cucumbers on top. Other than that, the meat paired well with the mac and cheese. Vibe wise, the place was chill. Giving a homey fast food vibe.

Omg! My first time trying and I got the Cheesesteak Mac – the flavor is out of this world!!
My husband got the By The Bay Mac and that is also flavor packed! We got regular portions and they were jammed full – very generous portions! Will definitely be going to try more!

Oh man!!! This food is delicious!!! To be clear, this is about a third of the shrimp that came on the meal and about half the Mac – it was stacked!
If you’re looking for a great, reasonably-priced, place to eat incredibly delicious food… this is the spot! I ordered the By the Bay Shrimp Mac N’ Cheese. My buddy ordered the BBQ Chicken Mac N’ Cheese. Both were stacked full of proteins and flavor!
