We were in town and loved the ambiance of this place. Irene ordered bison chili and a salad and I went for a bowl of bison chili also. I saw hand cut fries on the menu and ordered those as a side. They brought an order to our table, but it was actually for another table, and I spied that the fries were prepared horribly. That dark brown color that comes from not knowing how to remove the excess starch, having the wrong fry oil temperature, etc., etc.. These were really really bad looking, brown fries. And so I quickly said “oh let me cancel my order of fries” ( because I knew I wouldn’t be eating these) and they said “oh your fries are already in the fryer. We cannot cancel them”; so I said “OK. Fine bring them”. And then I didn’t touch them, but I just planned to pay for them.

I’m going to show you photos from my home of the way I make fries. You see, I lived in Holland for several years and they take their potatoes very seriously over there and I became addicted to fries that were golden in color and not burned.

So they sat uneaten. But when our real waitress came around to ask how everything was, I told her that the fries were burned and she kindly removed them and did not charge for them. So five stars for service.

The chili was good. Profound cumin flavor. Several types of beans. But. If you don’t like cumin, this is not for you. It’s essentially a cumin stew.

We always eat at Slippery Otter! The food is super delicious, always served hot with generous portions. They have the nicest servers and they aim to please! The bison burger my husband had was great and they have things on the menu for vegetarians like me! Don’t forget the cheesecake with huckleberry sauce.

Absolutely awesome – SO yummy!! It was our favorite place we ate during our whole Yellowstone trip! We got the soup of the day, which was a bison chili!! Also, we got bison burgers, a lamb burger, buffalo chicken pizza, and Greek salad! Everything was incredibly tasty! I wish we lived closer to return again. Great vibe inside and cute merch for the cute name!

Omg! We had a blast here! Their food is so good. They also have a lot of fun and unique drinks. Our waiter was super energetic and seemed very passionate about his job. I would totally recommend checking this place out if you’re in west Yellowstone.

My husband and I came here twice after visiting Yellowstone National Park. They have a generous variety of local tap beers – my favorite was the 56 counties.
Staff is really, really nice. After having drinks, we came back the next day for the prime rib, which was to die for! Would def. Recommend. Burgers and pizza looked delicious!

I had the lamb burger and added feta, my partner had on with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños. Both were delicious. The lamb burger was served pink in the middle which was perfect for me (but I know others wouldn’t like this!). The beef burger was not pink. Chips were slightly salty but tasty and the beer was nice!

The service was fantastic, ever so friendly!

Just a heads up, this was the greasiest burger we had in West Yellowstone so if that’s not your thing, don’t go here! We didn’t mind and it added to the flavour!

We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. Our waitress was great also. Prices were about what I would expect. The burger, fries, and French onion soup were all cooked perfect and had great flavor.

Great name, OK food. Very fast service. I did like they were able to give me double vegetables and no fries to go low card with the sirloin. Many other items were from frozen.

We weren’t disappointed with our food here but it’s probably not a place we are itching to revisit. Everything was ok and the huckleberry soda was fun but the food didn’t stand out

Went here when we were headed out of town. It was peak dinner hour, but for a busy place the staff moved quickly to get the next table seated. Fish and chips were overcooked and my son and partner were not impressed. The steak salad was really good and the staff is AMAZING. A place to eat that I think has decent food depending on what you order, but a great staff and local craft beer and wine make it worth checking out.
