I have lived in Utah forever and for some reason have never found my way to Blue Iguana. My mistake! We ordered the molcajete. This is the best thing I have ever tasted. Everything came out hot, tasted amazing, and the tomatillo sauce – I wanted to lick the bowl. The green onions, steak, chicken, and shrimp and cheese with sauce on top put in a tortilla. Oh my.
It easily feeds 2 people (and frankly probably 3 or 4). We also had frozen lime margarita and pina colada. We will be back.

Possibly the worst tortillas I’ve ever had. Super thick, doughy, more like a pita. House salsa pretty good, complimentary chips good. Fajitas acceptable and good quantity for the price. Doubt I’d come back, but maybe this is what people for Utah consider “good” Mexican.

This may just be the best Mexican restaurant in Utah! I’ve gone to quite a few, and I love the ambience, the staff are helpful and quick, the food is amazingly fresh and authentic! I highly recommend!

I didn’t need to write about this place..but I have to do it! to describe this place. First of all, The themes were pretty neat and the decoration outside that was leading towards the main entrance was pretty cool too. The door looked like a phone booth back in time. . Second, as you enter that main door the stairs that you would be walking on are the stairs to another entrance to the service area where you would need to check in…the lightings from the outside and inside was a fabulous sight to see and the commotions taken place inside the restaurant. . Therefore, this was our first time there and we are glad we have chosen this place to go , it was my birthday! . A good time for sure. Authentic Mexican food. It was quite busy! and very loud that night I think there was a Convention Center going on that evening. Yes, it’s the best place to eat in the city, ️ drink and eat and enjoy the atmosphere. It was a good experience for the first time there. Other than that, we had a blast! Good time good food and we enjoyed our evening together. I just wanted to give a Thank you to Kris ! our waitress.. she was very nice and she did an excellent service! All in all, The food was delicious and drinks were great too. It’s not the end of the world, so We will surely come back for another drinks and entertainment.

Food was excellent, had the steak quesadilla, would order again. Service was slow & awkward. In fairness to staff, they had a huge table for a party serve right before us, but even when our food came, we only received half, others waited 5 minutes after receiving fajitas to receive their tortillas & sides. Atmosphere is fine, nit bad, not great. Skinny margaritas were great. Would return in less busy night.
