Industrial Revolution Eatery and Grill…
I enjoy eating here whenever I’m in NW Indiana, which is two or three times a year, so over time I’m guessing I’ve eaten 10 meals in IR Eatery, and I’ve never been disappointed.
The interior decorations are themed to match the name of the restaurant with a small train running overhead around the entire dinning room. Each table has a small history card with written description of the event or individual pictured on the card.
The staff is very friendly, and we were quickly seated. Our drinks were brought to our table promptly and kept filled during our meal.
I’ve never been disappointed with the food served, and this time was no different. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it is a well sized portion with a flaky crust, and very homemade-ish. The filling was warm and had plenty of chicken and veggies in the thick sauce. The taste was marvelous and made this pot pie the perfect comfort food.
My wife had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich served with a side of potato wedges. The BBQ was a pleasant blend of mild and sweet, while the potato wedges were well seasoned and cooked perfectly.
Industrial Revolution Eatery and Grill is always on my list of stops for this area and well worth the hour and 1/2 drive north.

Was one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant in a long time! Super friendly staff, wonderful quality food, unique design/atmosphere and all for about the price I would pay to go to other places for half of the quality! I ate on the food for a couple days after, I was surprised at serving size of welded nachos, my wife had a pot pie which looked amazing and she loved. The burger I also had was divine! Lastly, I had the seasonal Haunted Harvest cheesecake, which I got sooo excited to eat and tasted so wonderful I forgot to take a picture of!

We visited this place while at Flint Lake. I loved the building’s exterior. Along the roofline is the iconic sculpture of the “working man”. The restaurant highlights American accomplishments. I loved the interior, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and I especially like the train that goes along near the ceiling. Our server was very personable and gave us speedy, friendly service. The food however, left something to be desired. My husband ordered the Mac and Cheese Pot Roast. It was covered with a strong blue cheese sauce, so strong he couldn’t eat it. I had the chicken over mashed potatoes with gravy, so very salty! All in all, I would come back for the atmosphere but be very cautious about ordering.

During a recent visit to the Indiana Dunes National Park, we stopped to eat dinner at the Industrial Revolution Eatery and Grille. Food was phenomenal. Everything was packed with flavor. We started with the cheese curds, which had a great garlic crust. Then hubs and I couldn’t decide between the Pot Roast Mac and Cheese and the Local Hero, so we each ordered one and split it. I preferred the Local Hero, which was grilled chicken topped with cheese, balsamic vinegar and pico. But the Mac and cheese was good too. Finished off with the Red, White and Blue Cheesecake. If you only get to eat at one place in Valparaiso (we were here three days), this is the one to not miss! A must try!

Very cool restaurant theme. Not sure if I was there at a slower time or what.. but the food left a lot to be desired. The whole menu looked great so I ordered the burger flight thinking I may get to try several types of smaller portions. The slider patties were tiny and way overcooked. Sliders, fries, and a drink were nearly $30.

I’m not from here. I’m visiting family and my niece chose this place for her birthday. I am honestly, ridiculously impressed with this place!
All the way from the decor and environment down to the food and service… food was hot and delicious. Service was great! Our server (I apologize for not getting his name – but he deserves a shout out for serving our party of 12!) was friendly, attentive, and personable. Drinks were delicious as well.
I can’t wait to come here next time we visit the family.

My coworker suggested this place because he and his wife frequent this restaurant whenever they’re in town. We’re here on a business trip and I enjoyed the entire experience. The staff were warm and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing and the food was delicious. I already told my wife we’re stopping here if we’re close by.

Excellent and wonderful experience. The restaurant was very busy, So was the server girl. A very simplified menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant is absolutely outstanding. There is a small remote control train in the ceiling that is fun to watch. It’s a good place to have a large crowd party like we did. If you like pure Americana, this is the place for you. I definitely will be back with my wife if we go back to this location.

I Have driven past this place a few times to my daughter’s new house and we finally stopped. The building is beautiful I like iron work and so there’s plenty of it there. The atmosphere is very nice quotes on the wall and there is a patio but we didn’t get to go out there. The food was average price but it was very delicious we had fried green beans and then we had a couple of sandwiches they were huge for me. We will definitely be stopping in again the next time we are in Indiana to try new things on the menu.

Food came out quick, after that it was hard to get attention of waitress. Waited probably 10 minutes just to get ketchup for kids.
Atmosphere is hard to beat. The train kept my baby entertained everytime it came around. It stopped alot tho for some reason.
