Had an awesome lunch at Circle 6 today.
The Brisket Tacos were to die for and the hamburger excellent. We also ordered the portobello mushrooms & the dipping sauce was great. After our meal, be picked up some pork and waygu beef from the gift store to bring back home with us. The owner is very sweet and friendly! 5 stars, will be back. Was absolutely worth the 2 hour drive.

Had a late lunch and it was very slow. Staff was friendly, place was clean and cute.
Brisket tacos were great. 2 tacos stuffed with flavorful meat with sauce and cheese on top. Would get again.
Burger was good, not great. Bun was a run of the mill store bun. Fries were ok, they weren’t hot, think they would have been perfect if they had been.

This little town has alot of charm and some unique places to stop along the way. Circle 6 is located along the Katy Trail and had a bridge that takes you inside their courtyard which offers some shaded spots and plenty of tables to enjoy a beverage and a bite to eat, or some entertainment on a beautiful day. Inside is a bar with lots of seating, tables to enjoy a bite, and a few slots. There is also a store/gift shop/ice cream parlor that offers fresh fruits, vegetables and all kinds of frozen meat. The food here is average bar food, cooked to order out of a food truck that is attached to the side of the bar. Don’t get into a rush if you plan on eating here, it’s a one man operation. Decent place to refresh yourself if you’re bike riding or just on a Sunday drive and passing thru. We were greeted by a nice man seated on the porch, he was just enjoying his day. Nice small town vibe here.

Stopped in to meet the owner and learn the basics on curing my own angus beef tallow. This place is a community gem: wagyu burgers, great fries, and a friendly vibe even on a cold winter day. Will be coming back for weekend live music and farm to table specials.

Finished a bicycle ride on the Katy Trail and drove here for lunch. Really enjoyed it. Good food, reasonable prices. Shaded area outside for eating. Yes… it’s a bar, and has music on the weekends, but it’s also good in the middle of the day. PS We found out it’s easy access directly from the Katy Trail! too!

Limited menu, Food was great. My wife won some money at machines and we picked up some sweets in their tasting room next door.

Unfortunately, I won’t be back.

The atmosphere is nice. The service and the food was not. First, I sat quietly and patiently waiting at the bar to get a drink, and despite being told I would receive service soon (they were busy) after waiting 5-10 minutes very patiently, I watched people who just walked up to the bar get served in under 30 seconds, who arrived 5-10 minutes AFTER me. I was sitting at the bar with my card in my hand, very visible. After seeing two people who just walked up get served after I had already been waiting awhile, I just walked away.

Secondly, after paying $8.99 for fries, when my order was ready I picked it up only to see that the portion I bought was less than a small order of fries at McDonald’s. It looked as if someone pinched out of some fries and dropped that tiny portion onto my plate. That’s what 9 bucks bought me.

Those two things were enough for me to decide never to come back. Despite the potential and the nice atmosphere, the service and the food was terribly small in proportion, and overpriced.

My experience just a short walk away at Good News Brewery was far better.

Jen was great. We were a group of three cyclists staying in Defiance for the night. Had good burgers and good beer. She was very attentive, while not pushy. Thx Circle 6.
