When I’m craving Japanese food that goes outside of your typical sushi or hibachi place, I always think of Domo. Their dishes are delicious and packed with flavor. I’ve been more than satisfied with every single dish I’ve tried so far. The atmosphere and ambiance is very serene and almost makes you feel like you’re not in Denver anymore. There’s indoor and outdoor seating available. Their parking lot is small, but there’s plenty of street options available. The service is friendly but rather on the inattentive side. I wish they checked in on us more the past few times I’ve been, but overall I’ve had very pleasant experiences at Domo.

The flavor of the food was great. Savory and really satisfying. We got the dipping noodles with soy based soup and chicken. The soy based soup was amazing! The curry was great as well but honestly the dipping noodle with soy based soup took the show! We also got the Ja-Tacos which were very good but again the dipping noodle took the show. The soda is in 12 once cans.

The most authentic Japanese restaurant I’ve encountered in Denver. The food was incredible, and the entire experience was absolutely worth it. It’s a different type of restaurant—so unique and special. Even though we ordered dishes we had never tried before, they exceeded our expectations. Truly one of a kind.

I had lost track of this restaurant 10 years ago. So amazing to still experience it true to its vision of traditional ambiance and food! We had the soy milk based broth dipping soup with ramen and udon, still amazing flavors and hearty meals. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere feels very Japanese and the setting is quite unique, which gave me a good first impression. Unfortunately, the food quality was far below expectations.
The jumbo unagi came with rice that was soft, mushy, and fell apart easily. The side dishes had a weird taste, and my friend’s soymilk nabe also had an odd flavor. Overall the dishes felt below average.
They don’t take reservations, so you have to wait in person. We waited over 30 mins for a late lunch, and honestly, the food was nowhere near worth the wait.
The high rating might reflect how things used to be, but at least right now, the quality just isn’t there anymore. Don’t be fooled.

Calm and courteous atmosphere. Amazing food. Remind me of some Kyoto, Japan restaurants. Outdoor and indoor seating.

Sushi and home cooking both were delicious. The soups were rich and hearty. Soba special is offered now with dipping noodles. Definitely better price than most places around Denver with bigger servings.

Walked right in for lunch, no reservations needed.

Dinner can get busier and packed.

Parking is street but has limited free parking

What can I say, you have to go! Closes at 7 and can be busy at anytime. Super authentic and unique. Affordable with a great menu and decor is awesome. They have an outdoor garden as well. If you are in Denver you need to go

The food was great! The chrysanthemum tea was delicious and the service was amazing! The atmosphere stile the scene! This was the prettiest restuarnt I’ve been to in Colorado. It was absolutely beautiful! The dojo is open to tour but not touch and its a used dojo people still train there! Very beautiful, very peaceful, great food. 10/10 experience!

We loved the authentic Japanese culture, atmosphere and food! This is a very unique and incredible dining experience. The menu selection was very true to Japanese culture and the garden and museum make Domo a special restaurant. Strongly recommended! While at the restaurant we completely forgot we were in downtown Denver. Very special restaurant.

We’ve wanted to try this spot for awhile, given there aren’t many (if any) spots serving Japanese country food in Colorado… and this did not disappoint! Everything was very well done, flavorful and a fantastic DEAL for the amount and quality of food you get. The decor and atmosphere of the space is so unique too.
