We were able to get seats right away around 6:15 But later it was all packed.
We ordered premium beef tongue pork belly and premium ribs. These were absolutely delicious and good quality.
We were told that no appetizers are included so we ordered edamame which was good
Later we added kabocha peppers and family combo meat. Turned out we felt the combo meat was less in quality though more quantity. But the vegetables were very fresh and delicious.
The staff was very attentive and friendly. When it was fully packed it was very lively.

BEST JAPANESE BBQ SPOT EVER! My family have been consistently coming to this resturant for years to celebrate any special occasions or birthdays. The meat, rice, side dishes, and rice are always delicious. The staff are welcoming, accomodating, and even recognize my family now. I highly reccomend the family combo as it offers a good balance of beef variety and value, especially for larger parties. The portions are not the largest and on the pricier side but I think it’s worth it for the quality over quantity. Free parking but it’s difficult to find available spots especially at night, as expected of Convoy tho. The restroom is nothing special, single room, and in the back next to the kitchen. Will definitely continue to eat here !!

Excellent dinner with my family. We couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant or attentive staff. The chow was excellent. We can’t wait to go back.
If you’re new to Asian Bbq places in SoCal keep in mind that some are all-you-can-eat and cost approx $35 pp. They are great places to go but definitely offer lower grade meats. This is not Tsuruhashi as they are an a la carte restaurant. Higher grade meats (A5) and approx $100 pp.
Think Outback/Applebee’s vs Capital Grille/Ruth’s Chris.

Had my birthday there, and you can absolutely taste the good quality of the food there. Recommend their premium family combo, I’ll say it’s a good amount for 1-2 people. The regular beef tongue is also a great option. Really nice service, the only problem is it’s a little pricey, but fair enough for what you get.

A very nice Japanese Yakiniku style restaurant (beef, vegetables, chicken or others that you grill on the table).
They have a good selection of different meat and meat quality. All was excellent, and you can really taste the difference between the different quality levels.
The staff were very friendly and professional, and provided excellent service.
I really liked the nice, cozy atmosphere, with individual booths and wood paneling.
Definitely a fun place to come to when you have that craving for tasty yakiniku bbq!

This was our first visit to a Japanese BBQ restaurant, so our basis for comparison is Korean BBQ which we eat frequently. The grill setup and raw foods were very similar, but we were majorly disappointed. There were no oils or seasonings available, and only 2 sauces which you had to ask to have refilled. All food had to be ordered a la cart instead of being available buffet style. The meat we ordered (family dinner special) was absolutely delicious. But the experience was tainted by the vegetables not being included and being WAY overpriced for very small variety and portions. It seems to me that vegetables and rice should be included when ordering expensive meat combinations so we felt nickeled and dime, and left unsatisfied even though we spent more than we do at the buffet style BBQ places. There were many Japanese-looking people there that seemed happy, so maybe Japanese BBQ is just not for us. That said, since the food is so similar, we greatly prefer buffet-style BBQ where you can get whatever combination of veggies, meats, seasonings, and sides you want. The higher quality meat we had at Tsuruhashi (which again was truly delicious) wasn’t enough to tilt the scales enough for us to go back.
The service was excellent, staff friendly, and the seating very comfortable.

Great Yakiniku BBQ plan in SD. They offer both Japanese and American Wagyu. Very good quality of meat selections. They also offer Korean style vegetable pickle combo, soon tofu soup and Bibimbap. Attentive service from the staff. Will come back here again next time when I am in town.

Very delicious kobe beef, beef tartare and miso pork belly. Staff are very nice and friendly. They even treated me a free ice cream dessert and offered me a birthday song because they saw my birthday pin. Will come back again!

Was craving some Japanese bbq and found this spot. The meat is so fresh and so good! The marbling on the cube and the bite after being grilled was perfect! The staffs were so nice asking if we need to change our grill. Unfortunately they were out of a few things we wanted cause we arrived at 8:30. I do believe they close at 10. I want to come back to try the wagyu. Definitely a good date spot to go to. It is on the pricier side though so keep that in mind. But highly recommend if you’re looking for a good Japanese bbq!
