TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We finally tried Dave’s Hot Chicken in Houston, and it was a hit with my husband and daughters! The flavor was on point, though my husband wished it packed a bit more heat—he’s all about that extra kick. Overall, they loved it and were excited to hear there’s now a location in Chesterfield (St. Louis). That one’s definitely on their list next!

The service was great; I must always start with that because oftentimes it’s not recognized enough. It’s my first time trying the restaurant in general and maybe it was overly hyped, but I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t even finish it. The chicken was bland. I like my chicken well seasoned & fried hard and crispy. Personal preference. It’s a no for me.

Pros: Super clean restaurant with a cool vibe. They had an offer if you left a review that you got a free drink. Service was quick and the staff were friendly.
Cons: On the more expensive side for fast food. A #1 is almost $13 and doesn’t include a drink. The chicken is very heavily coated. I didn’t mind it but I could see how others would.

Canes better watch out! This was my first time here and won’t be the last. The chicken was so good and flavorful. I ordered a small top loaded fries with medium heat. It was bussing. The macaroni and cheese was a nice addition. The bathroom was spotless. The patio was clean. The cashier was nice and patient. I will definitely go back

My first time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken after passing it by for a good while, and i got to say i’m impressed. The chicken is good, i like the selection of heat lvl to choose from; i got lite mild and reaper. Both flavors were good. The fries are good too, the seasoning is a little different but it’s not a big zonk for me. Dave’s sauce is pretty cool, i dig it! it pulls everything together.
Overall it was a good first experience. i’ll be back to try their treats there’s one with my favorite cereal on it, so I got to try that!

This location was clean and customer service was friendly. Food was great and definitely had a kick to it. There are not many option to choose from, but understandable since their selling point is the chicken.
Only complaint is the pricing. I get that this whole “hot chicken” is a new trend by but I don’t feel like it will be for long unless they adjust the pricing. I’m paying for chicken strips and french fries, not a steak dinner. For a family of 3 our bill was $55.
