Hands down the best bbq I have ever had. This spot is amazing. It’s a small restaurant that is full of atmosphere and friendly people. The service is spectacular. The food is absolutely amazing. The flavor in everything is amazing. This is the best bbq sauce I’ve ever had. The best coleslaw I ever had. The banana pudding is out of this world. If you’re thinking about stopping just do it. They had all the games on when we were there. I will go back and take some sauce home with me. Be sure to get the bread. You want it with bread!

We drive out of our way to come here. Best places hands down for BBQ. Got a full rack and we’re as great as I remembered. It’s fun just being there. Got some Rip and Dip to start (sauce and white bread) then the ribs. Smoky deliciousness. Baked beans and potato salad. Can’t say enough about the service or the food. We found parking on the lot. Our lucky day.

This location definitely looks and feels more like a bar environment than a restaurant. They do have several things to choose from off the menu in addition to what a bar with family offer. But the environment feels more leaning toward a bar. I noticed the menu felt pretty dirty and you can see smudges of food on them.
My son really enjoyed his Food for the most part. He said the meat was a little bit tough but he absolutely enjoyed the fried green tomato appetizer. They were good and fresh and came out hot.
I ordered the nachos and unfortunately it came with stale chips and not a whole lot of meat on top. The server, Asia, never came back to check on how we were doing so I never got a chance to tell her my meal wasn’t good. When she did finally come when we were ready for the check and I informed her about the stale chips. She asked if I wanted some fresh chips, but made no other recommendations. I was done with it at that point.
I don’t know that I’ll go back to this location and I certainly wouldn’t order the nachos again.

Wonderful experience with Amie at the 14th st location. She was more than a pleasure to meet. The bbq sauce and light bread before the meal.. was a perfect compliment to the atmosphere. Dreamland Bbq is definitely authentically prepared.

Very disappointing to be honest. We bypassed on our way to Atlanta to get some bbq and was expecting fall off the bone ribs, instead they were tough and hard to eat. They definitely cheaper out on the sauce too. Ended up leaving most of my rack on the plate. Expected better seeing the good reviews so hopefully we just caught them on an off day.
Service was meh. The waitress just slapped down on our food and that was about it.
Can’t recommend unfortunately.

We loved the flavors!! The ribs were not fall off the bone, needed a little work to get the meat off.
Our service was a bit slow, but everyone was super nice!!
Atmosphere was perfectly bbq!!

Stopped here for lunch on our way down to New Orleans. I like the interior, especially with the “No Farting” neon sign The service was decent, we were checked on a few times. To start, I’ve never seen bread and BBQ. It works though!
We started with wings and fried green tomatoes. Those wings were fire! The fried green tomatoes were good too, though they were a little salty in my opinion. For my entree, I got pulled pork, rib tips, potato salad and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! And everything came out hot, we had to wait like five minutes to comfortably eat our food! But that’s a sign of freshness and definitely better than cold BBQ

We found this place through google reviews. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bbq sauce is on the vinegary side and the ribs are not fall of the bone ribs. But they were tasty, just not amazing. Service was good and the fries were excellent. Banana pudding was really good.
Kid friendly restaurant with access to high chairs.

We’ve eaten here dozens of times, and the food is always good. Today our server seemed preoccupied and we had to ask multiple times for most everything including the check. We were bringing clients here who are visiting Alabama and moving to Alabama, for their first visit here. This is the restaurant we chose to show off the Alabama/Birmingham food scene and we were disappointed that the service seemed so different than we’ve experienced in the past. The tables on each side of us were very frustrated and angry about the service as well. It’s an Alabama institution here, beginning with the Tuscaloosa original restaurant, and where hoping that the issues get worked out.

Ridiculously good bbq. We were told by some local folks that it is a great place to eat while in Birmingham and they were 1000% correct. Fun environment, neat old building, awesome food, and their sauce was perfect. I will go back every time I travel through the area. I find places I like and keep going back over and over, dreamland bbq fits in my qualifications to be a regular on my habitual travel eating spots!!
