What a find! Hate to talk it up for fear of it becoming too crowded. It is small.

Quinn makes pretty good coffee. Everything else was great!

Creamed chipped beef, scrapple, sausage egg and cheese sandwich were all wonderful.

AND, the bill came in below what we expected.

Love this hidden gem of hockessin. It’s not a big place , but a great quaint place I love to go for breakfast. The food is good and prices are inexpensive. The staff is very nice . I love having this cafe in my home town .

Nice community diner. Food was standard diner fare – tasty and big portions. Friendly staff and good service.

This is one of my go to places for breakfast and lunch. The food is great (Big breakfast: eggs done your way, choice of meat, french toast or pancakes and hash browns) For lunch I like everything from a California rueben to 2 choices of pulled pork. The servers are very friendly and the owners John and Adrienne are super nice!

Decided to stop for breakfast
Went w/ the Big Breakfast, a lot of food for the pice.
I gotta say, I was really impressed with the Food, service, cleanliness and overall a great spot to eat.
Customer service was top tier by the elderly lady.
Coffee upon arrival was served.
Definitely will be coming back whenever in the area
Place was a bit crowded but manageable.

Today was my last visit here. I called to place an order and was asked to hold and the call was disconnected. After I got there, and waited to be helped, I mentioned that I had called but got disconnected and lady explained they were very busy but nobody hung up on me. I didn’t say with an attitude but apparently she took offense. I handed her the money and she put my change on the counter. I work in customer service, and that is one of the most disrespectful and rudest things you can do to a customer. I like the convenience of your his place as it’s in walking distance to my job but from now on, I will drive to The Well, Wawa, or Starbucks. They will not get another dime of my money.

I’m guessing lunch is not their specialty. We had a bowl of chili and three “light fluffy waffles.” Took awhile to get our meals. Chili was adequate and the slice of garlic bread was basically New York Texas Toast from the grocery store. Waffles appeared to be frozen grocery store purchase. Three small rectangular waffles with powdered sugar sprinkled over top. Disappointing. The cafe is also aged and needs a thorough cleaning. The dirt hanging from the ceiling fans was disgustingly as well as the air vents in the ceiling. On the other hand I will say the omelette and egg dishes which came by our booth looked large and appetizing. This was a miss for us, but maybe it’s all about the breakfast.

Our waitress was friendly, but neglected to tell us we had to pay at the counter up front after we sat there with empty plates and coffee cups for at least 20 minutes. So word of advice, don’t wait for your check at the table when you’re done… go to the front counter.

The creamed chip beef had a strange, off taste, and the cream sauce itself was extremely under-flavored. After shaking the pepper like a tambourine I was eventually able to breathe some life into this dish. This was strange for me considering I almost never touch the salt and pepper shakers in a restaurant, and definitely never had to for creamed chip beef before.

The thin, chip-like homefries were definitely a unique twist. However, they reminded me of stale, unsalted potato chips that have been left out of the bag and in a bowl at some family bbq for a few too many hours. Each fry had a mixed texture of crunchy, soft, mushy, and the overall flavor was just bland. By bland I don’t just mean they weren’t seasoned, but I couldn’t find a single glistening grain of salt.

The booth we sat in wasn’t the most comfortable, and being only 170 pounds, I was still afraid the creaking bench was going to collapse from under me at any given moment as it drooped, somewhat lopsided, and moaned sounds of a wooden bench that simply had enough. Overall, I really do have to say the staff was very nice, and I do feel somewhat guilty giving it three stars, but after all, you are coming here to eat.

five star home style staff and atmosphere. i really love the vibe, like I’m waiting for someone to ask if I did my chores. the food is decent enough, but don’t expect ginormous portions.

Go with the reuben.
