Well from the outside we would not have picked this spot but walking in changes all that. The atmosphere both inside and out was fun and cool. We sat on the patio and we had a late lunch. Started with the calamari and chips and salsa. Both were excellent! We also had 2 different pizza’s, the gyro, and the burger. The pizza crust is nice and thin. The gyro was just okay. The burger was yummy. Service was outstanding. We would definitely go back.

This is a staple for us every time we’re in the area. The outdoor patio is unbeatable, the drinks off the charts, and the service exquisite. Door variety, quantity and quality is top notch. Don’t let the modest outside of the restaurant fool you. The inside is a paradise!

Fantastic dinner. If you’re here with a group, absolutely order the pupu platter. The variety of apps on that thing is amazing. Everyone at our table found something to love. Our meals were fantastic as well. Huge portions. Delicious food. Great, prompt, attentive service. I would 100% eat here again.

The outside of the restaurant and its surrounding area did not come across as an attention seeking place. The street was quiet, there were some parking on the street and more parking was available in the back. Although smaller spaces than expected, my friend’s SUV fit right in with minimal wiggle room.
The lit torches out in the front of the restaurant were a nice addition to its exterior decor and then we walked inside….

My girlfriends and I were celebrating our milestone birthday. We had a 7pm reservation on a week night. The hostess greeted us. She was friendly and welcoming. We were then lead to the patio area outside. Not to say that the dining area was not inviting but we preferred fresh air. The weather was perfect in late August.

Our server, Andrea was exceptional, from beginning til end. She didn’t miss a beat. Like the hostess, she was welcoming and friendly. More importantly, she always checked in with us, asking if there was anything else we needed. And, when we did, she was prompt in fulfilling our request each time. Even when it got busy, she made sure we ended our dining experience with smiles on our face.

Nice calming ambience both in the dining area and outdoor patios. From its decor, low lighting, music, and friendly staff, it was perfect.

Our mocktails and food were good. Not exactly 5 star but presentation was on point.

It was definitely a great night to celebrate our birthdays at The Tropicale in Palm Springs! Perfect

A must-see

Really fun, swanky, old-school Palm Springs five. Funny to walk to it past sort of a sketchy area and then you enter the front doors and it’s dark and beautiful and moody. Nice patio outside too. Happy hour drinks are like $6.75 and up, no publicized menu of what they are but lots of options. Great prices and generous portions. Friendly waiters. Will have to come here every time I come to Palm Springs!

This place lives up to its name. The coconut martini makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. The fried chicken salad is delicious and the banana split is almost enough for 3 people. The staff are friendly and efficient. Great tropical atmosphere.

Tropicale’s hospitality driven by Ashley always exceeds our expectations! Ashley goes out of her way to notice things before they’re even mentioned or requested and we leave feeling like we matter and that our business is appreciated. We will continue to support Tropicale and refer others to this amazingly managed establishment as well!

A fabulous spot with delicious food and a laid-back vibe that won’t quit. I heard that this was the most popular restaurant in Palm Springs and now I understand why.
The atmosphere is intoxicating. Our server was wonderful. And the food was everything you want it to be. Even something as simple as the spaghetti and meatballs was a dish that everyone wanted to eat more of. It felt like being invited into a cool secret club, but not pretentious at all. An unforgettable experience for the large group we were with that exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend.

The Tropicale came highly recommended by a few friends and even my sister in law, so my wife and I made it our first dinner stop for our one year anniversary weekend. We were excited to try it but honestly the whole experience just was not what we hoped for.

From the moment we walked in it felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. It was loud, packed, and people were constantly moving around. Conversation was tough and instead of a relaxed dinner vibe it felt like everyone was there mainly for the bar scene. The staff, to their credit, were great. There were servers everywhere making sure drinks stayed full and checking on tables, and every person we interacted with was kind and on top of things.

Food wise it started off promising. We shared the Thai pork lettuce cups with papaya slaw and those were actually really good with nice flavor, a little sweet and savory, and probably the highlight of the night. After that it went downhill. We ordered the Creekstone ranch prime flat iron steak which is twelve ounces and fifty four dollars and it came out bland and a little dry. We even asked for extra salt because it was just missing seasoning completely. The baked potato that came with it was literally just a plain potato with some toppings on the side and nothing special at all. My wife barely touched it.

For my entrée I tried the miso glazed steelhead salmon with black rice. It was fine and tasted like a normal salmon bowl with a light teriyaki glaze but nothing memorable or worth coming back for. Considering the price point I expected something that felt a bit more special or unique.

Everyone around us was ordering cocktails and big fun drinks which honestly looked like the main draw here. We do not drink so maybe that is the real hook of the place and why people rave about it. If you are looking for a lively bar and cocktail scene maybe it is great. But for a nice sit-down dinner it just was not it for us. The staff was wonderful but overall it is not a spot we would return to for food.

We went in for a quick drink at the bar and were met at the front with smiling faces! The manager let us look for spaces at the bar and when there was no space she kindly and swiftly gave us a high top. We ordered from a nice gentleman and received our delicious drinks very promptly. We really wanted to sit at the bar and when a spot opened up we closed with our server and found a couple seats and they made us feel right at home. We met the sweet bartender Mike who was dealing with a situation of his own involving another customer. They were definitely difficult and not being very nice to him so we made home feel better by sharing our thoughts. I wanted to leave this review because Mike was probablythe nicest bartender I have ever met and made our experience one we will not forget in a while! We didn’t order much but we will be back to sit at the bar for dinner soon! Thank you so much!
