UberEats Buy 1 Get 1 Free, issue that needs to be CORRECTED.

I go on the UberEats app and order the ‘Kodenn Nan Sos (Stew Turkey)’ Buy 1 Get 1 Free meal.

In the description, it states the meal comes with THREE options which the patron will pick 1 from.

The stewed turkey will either come with… Option 1: White Rice and Beans with Plantains. OR Option 2: Plantains Only; No Rice. OR Option 3: Mixed Rice (Diri Kole) and Beans with Plantains. (Which is written very simple and easy to understand.)

As a patron, I decide I want the stewed turkey to come with White Rice, Beans and Plantains which is OPTION 1, per the description.

However, there is NO OPTION 1 button/selection for me to choose.

It’s only Option 2: ‘Green Plantains Only (No Rice)’ and Option 3: ‘Diri Kole (Mixed Rice and Beans)’ which I find confusing and frustrating.

But Thank God for the special instructions section, because I decide to write in Haitian Creole “Tanpri, eske mwen ka gen diri blan ak sos pwa? Mwen pa ka chwazi li sou aplikasyon an.”

TRANSLATION: “Please, may I have white rice and beans? I cant choose it on the app.”

I, then call the restaurant twice but it said the line was disconnected.

The restaurant owner calls, (a man) and tells me that the Buy 1 Get Free deal doesn’t come like that.

Meaning, I would only get the Stew Turkey and Plantains Only.

So If I wanted the White Rice Beans and Plantains, I would have to add White Rice and Beans which is an additional charge.

(So why put in the description that there are 3 options to pick from??? with only 2 selections?)

I told him, the description says its 3 options to pick from, I also tell him that its confusing as a patron, expecting all 3 options to be there but I have to manually add the option that isnt there.

He states he can give me the rice and beans as a 1 time courtesy thing, but also tells me I’m the only one that has had this issue.

So from there, I lose my appetite and unfortunately patronize, because to put in the description that there are 3 options that come with the food but yet, I as the patron, has to manually add what SHOULD have ALREADY be in the selection, doesn’t make sense.

If there are only 2 buttons which are for ‘Plantains only No Rice’ and ‘Diri Kole with Beans and Plantains’, than REMOVE White Rice with Beans and Plantains from the description OR OR OR write that Option 1: White Rice Beans and Plantains has to be manually added by going back to the Menu.

As an actual Haitian myself who will argue a person down about Haitian food, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and was overall, disappointing.

The food is amazing here, however Customer Service and Technical support needs improvement.

Thank you for reading this.

Come on really… Never been disappointed this much by the inconsistency of this restaurant I ordered a LEGUME BEEF… Order was supposed to be completed 15 minutes after I called got to the restaurant waiting an additional 20 minutes… Food is usually good didn’t mind sometimes it’s worth the weight receive my food. I should’ve checked it always check your food guys… Got home open my food. The only thing they got correct was the garden salad the fried plantains weren’t even fried all the way I had to finish frying them at home, the LEGUME that I ordered had turkey in it never had turkey in this before. Maybe just some people they like that but I personally do not. I did not order that. I did not pay for it. So I went back… They apologize they corrected it again. I did not check… (Kicked myself later for this) got home to find absolutely no meat in the LEGUME! I am livid at this point go back for the third time and just got my refund. I will never be back here again. They have lost a customer indefinitely. the owner argued with me up and down that there would be which was the smallest chop size ground beef, morsel of beef in licking. I’ve never seen it that way. Never had it that way. I’m good argued with me up and down. Ask them to put a spoon in the bowl and find beef which he couldn’t again I’m not coming back. Good luck with your meal.

The food was absolutely amazing, with generous portions for the price. The owner was incredible—extremely down-to-earth, welcoming, and very helpful. The environment was clean and impeccable, which made the experience even better. I’m giving this place five stars without hesitation and will definitely be returning!

Absolutely disgusting and tasteless. The legume tasted old and spoiled, with an overload of what seemed like old chicken shreds. I immediately knew something was off.

I called to ask for a refund and was flat-out refused, then they hung up in my face. If you’re so confident in your food, you wouldn’t hide behind a no-refund policy. Spoiled food is a health hazard, period.

I will be making sure Dirty Dining and the Department of Health are aware of this. Completely unacceptable.

We ordered a platter of griots for our party. When we arrived, at the pick up time, it wasn’t ready. We had to wait 40 minutes to get it. We served the griot two hours later, so I’m not sure if I can totally blame them for the dryness. Still, it was very, very dry. Almost at the point that you couldn’t eat it. Some of the pieces, you couldn’t tell if it was meat of bone. If you’re spending over $120 for food, it needs to be better than this. I hate to give a bad review, but perhaps it will help the chef to adjust his recipe.
It’s too bad. I want to support Haitian restaurants. There are two within walking distance of where I live. But I’ve given up on both of them. I had to drive 10 miles to go pick up this griot I ordered from Choublak, because I heard such good things about it. Why is it so hard to find a good Haitian place to eat?
Griot is supposed to be crisp, not hard (overcooked) on the inside. I suspect that it was frozen from the day before. I ordered this days before, so they had plenty of time to prepare and get it ready. But I have to say, the receptionist was supernice, very courteous and polite. The restaurant itself is very clean, and someone put a lot of care into the design. Maybe we’ll give it another try one day.

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. The service was absolutely horrible, you could tell the hostess hates her job. The restaurant was empty and we sat at a table and she took 10 minutes to go up to us with water and silverware. No smile or friendly demeanor. I asked her for a couronne (I’m Haitian American) and she laughed at my pronunciation of the soda and walked away. Throughout our meal not once did she come up to ask us if she can get us anything or how is everything. When I would call on her for anything she seemed bothered by us asking for napkins & drinks. My food was decent. I got the griot platter and my friend got the Tasso platter. My friend didn’t enjoy her food and said the goat had an odor, she mentioned it to the hostess who ignored her and asked her to checkout. Would not recommend at all….. at least for dine in.

The atmosphere is great the services is good. The food is delicious, but the price is just not worth the proportion.

There is barely rise in the box, but there is plenty of bean sauce and plenty of whatever meat you choose to order.

I did say I won’t no plantains and no salad but that say if a wanted extra rice I had to pay for it.
