We stumbled into Pats on our way back from the state park. Pat’s had been a restaurant my husband wanted to introduce to me. I love small mom and Pop owned restaurants. This one was no exception. The food is typical Midwest non-pretentious food. If you like fried food, this menu is for you. If you prefer healthy non-fried options, there are a few choices but not many. That said the service was very good. My husband did have an 8 ounce steak which surprises both as it came more like a skirt steak than an 8 ounce typical steak. I was surprised that smoking was allowed in the bar. The bar is very close to the tables . When I questioned I was told there’s no smoking in the banquet room. If cigarette smoke bothers you while you eat, this is not the restaurant for you.
However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. The potato salad leaned heavily on mustard and was a bit dry for our taste. The salad bar was underwhelming, offering limited options that didn’t quite meet our expectations. Additionally, some of the staff’s behavior felt unprofessional, it may have been a misunderstanding, but it slightly detracted from the overall dining experience. Our particular waitress was top notch and very attentive.
Despite these minor issues, the quality of the main courses made our visit worthwhile.
Still here, family run, great stop, say hi to Elvis!
Thank you for being around for our family! It’s much appreciated!
The dining area is adjacent to the bar area. There is a pool table and a jukebox. The dining area is a little dark, as you’d expect from an older bar and grille.
Don’t let the roadhouse feel scare you away from this steakhouse. The food is awesome and they’re just happy to see you.
Update:
It seems as if you’re allowed to smoke in the dining area. I’m not complaining, but was just surprised people still do that. I have been back several times, anyway, and will be back again.
