This is one of the best buffets I have been to. The service, food selection and quality was outstanding. Great that alcohol was included in the price. The pastry chowder Soup thing was my favourite.
Everything was perfect EXCEPT the way they heat up the King Crab on the grill causes the meat to stick on the shell. Makes it difficult to get the meat off. I do not know if this is done on purpose to slow people from eating the King Crab. There is no need to heat it up this way and I would argue that King Crab tastes just fine cold. This would be my only criticism of the restaurant.
Would I go again? Absolutely. Yes it is also expensive. Paid $ 170 CAD to prebook a month before hand on Klook.

If you’re looking for the ultimate dining experience in Taipei, A Joy on the 86th floor of Taipei 101 is absolutely worth every penny.
The view is incredible. Huge windows offer panoramic views of Taipei’s skyline, the surrounding mountains, and the city sprawling far below. It’s better than the observation deck, you get the same incredible perspective with incredible food.
As for the food, this a very premium buffet and the quality is outstanding. The seafood section was my favorite. Massive king crab legs grilled to perfection, fresh oysters shucked on the spot, and amazing fresh sashimi. The sushi and nigiri station was exceptional. I probably got a dozen of the seared A5 Wagyu nigiri. And had at least 8 of the the hand rolls, you can choose from fresh uni, scallop, and bluefin tuna.
I always have to get the Peking duck and the lobster. They have xiaolongbao too! The truffle one was interesting.
I can’t speak for the wall of vegetables, I honestly didn’t even look. I was here for the seafood and meat.
The desserts were great! I tried most of them. The have some different ones too like the fried shallot flavored chocolate. That one is a must try!
The bar had a list of free drinks to choose from and some high end ones with an upcharge.
The service was attentive, professional and very welcoming.
This place is very difficult to get reservations. This was my second time and highly recommend it.

This is “The top” of buffet in Taiwan. Yes, it’s located high on the Taipei 101. It costs NT$3,500+ per person and reservation required. To a place like this, the food gotta be fresh & delicious. The service gotta be prompt & courteous. It should be 5 stars level. To me, food- yes, atmosphere – a bit noisy, service – they failed on asking guests to leave when a session ended. Too rush – almost like rushing everyone as Police force…. It drew an imperfectness of a happy dining… For this kind of buffet, Eat together from the same group might be a better & comfortable choice…. My two cents!!

If you are planning a trip to Taipei, make a reservation here now. Dubbed the best buffet in Asia, it is not cheap. But the spread is not the usual buffet suspects! The dishes felt like fine dining but buffet style. The chefs are super attentive, the moment you take a dumpling, they replace it with a fresh one! The ingredients are premium and the standard is great. Only downside is the q to get in despite having a ticket is a bit of a bummer. But will go again!

We enjoyed an exceptional high-end buffet featuring hundreds of dishes spread across beautifully themed zones — each offering premium selections like A5 Wagyu beef, king crab legs, lobster, top-quality seafood, and expertly carved meats. Overall, a great experience. The menu does an excellent job showcasing the best of Taiwanese and Taiwanese-inspired dishes, thoughtfully executed with a modern twist. The beverage program is also pretty strong.
The simple dishes like炒米粉 and steamed egg — are done exceptionally well, which says a lot about the kitchen.
The service was great from server to kitchen team.
Although I wouldn’t frame this place around “value”, I’d happily return again with friends / families who haven’t been yet.

First time visiting A Joy Buffet Restaurant on the 86th floor of Taipei 101. The atmosphere is perfect, and it’s definitely a must-try experience at least once in your life. The service is good, and the chefs are very attentive. Some dishes are very fresh, while others are just average. Every plate is beautifully presented, and you can really see the value in what you’re paying for. However, it’s not a place I would feel the need to return to a second time.

What an amazing experience! Located all the way up on the 86th floor this luxury buffet is in the clouds. A5 Wagu, fatty tuna and prime rib are just three items that make this experience special. A full sushi bar for unlimited quality sushi. The coffee bar offers an infinity espresso machine which lets you watch as the barista pulls the shots. Totally worth the price.
