WOW. So we decided to try out Lily’s. To say it was the best food & service I’ve had in a long time is an understatement. To start, I’m always nervous going to new places because I am vegan. The owner was more than accomadating, creating an off-menu cauliflower steak dish for me. It was seriously almost too beautiful to eat (see pictures!!!) and so delicious I really teared up- haven’t eaten anything that unique & tasty in my life, even at a strictly vegan restaurants. We got the corn risotto (also made vegan) which we both LOVED and are not typically risotto people. For dessert we shared a berry cobbler type dish that was phenomenal. My boyfriend is extremely picky (eats like a 5 year old) but was overly thrilled with his steak & shrimp, as well as their house made steak sauce. He also ordered a side of mac & cheese which you can see from the photos was huge, he ended up taking half of it home. They also gave him a sample of bacon-fat soaked peanut brittle which I didn’t try but he said was wonderful. Another nice touch was the peach sorbet pallet cleanser they gave us between courses, something we hadn’t encountered before. I’m a bartender so tend to be picky with drinks, but again everything was perfect, one even being served with a flaming toasted marshmallow on top. The awesome couple that owns this place truly went above and beyond to cater to all of our needs, going off menu as well as the waiter being incredibly understanding and informative about all the dishes. We dressed as we would going to any upscale steak restaurant and encountered no issues, the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, not stuffy as some places tend to be. Love that we finally have a nice steak restaurant close by instead of having to make a drive! Safe to say we have found our new favorite date night spot!

I had dinner at Lily’s with a few others, and our entire dining experience was fantastic! We each tried one of the signature cocktails which were delightful. We all ordered appetizers and entrees. Everything was delicious! Beautiful presentation, great flavor! The atmosphere in the restaurant was also welcoming and fun.
We highly recommend going to Lily’s and we will absolutely be back!

Just visited Lilly’s in Colchester. The salad was excellent as was the Candied Bacon appetizer. I had the Filet steak which was very good however the portion was a little small. My wife had the salmon which she said was excellent. The menu is on the small side and I am sure they will add more offerings as they get their legs. I believe I will be a regular visitor and hope they have great success in the old Cafe Mangia location.

Just tried the restaurant and can’t say enough about the food or the people. I’d put the quality against ANY of the best places in the West Hartford or Glastonbury areas let alone Colchester. While I was waiting for my takeout order I was watching the people in the kitchen and everything plated was clean and precise.

I talked with both the owners while waiting and they just make you feel welcome despite being short staffed and very busy.

We will definitely make this one of our staple restaurants.

Love this place and will definitely come back. Staff was excellent, very attentive and friendly. I had the seafood risotto (excellent!). Make sure you have room for dessert! I ordered the chocolate ganache tart at the server’s recommendation. Oh my, no words to describe it. Very rich and outstanding.

So good! Great service and the food was so fresh…the steak was PERFECT (I got medium rare, husband got well done, and both were just right). Pricey but deservedly so in the event you feel like treating yourself. I agree with the other review that we’re lucky to have such an upscale place in this small town where it’s hard to come by.

Beautiful space with excellent food choices. Tables were well spaced so you could have a conversation without listening to your neighbors. The service was a bit slow but the food was excellent. Portions were very good and prices were in keeping with realistic quality expectations. We will certainly go back.

Fabulous dinner on a Saturday evening! Husband and I each had the beef filet with the crab cake, asparagus and bernaise sauce special as the main course, cheese platter and salads for appetizer and apple crumble for dessert. Everything so delicious! Service was attentive and friendly; drinks so good. Try this place soon. We’re going back!

Our reservation was at 8:00 pm and by 8:45 we felt rushed and that they were ready for us to finish up so they could close. Salad and main course were good, dessert was so-so, coffee was tepid, music volume was too loud for fine dining, price point somewhat high for Colchester, though comparable to, say, JGilbert or MaxFish. Will try for brunch sometime and hope it is more relaxed.I do wish them well because our town needs a fine dining option.

Party of 4, Saturday night. Other couple loved their food, both had seafood dishes. My wife and I were not as thrilled. Food was very nice, fresh, no issues from that point. My Caesar salad was pretty non-de script. The dressing was kind of bland. I expect something with some zing, and some anchovy, that’s what’s in Caesar salad dressing. Very fresh, just no zing. The arugula with my Pork Chop Milanese was again, fresh but just a pile on the plate, no dressing, no zing. The pork chop was OK, nothing to write home about. I ordered Truffle Parm Fries to have with dinner, came mid way through dinner after I asked twice. Not french fries, more like long potato chips/strips. The large parmigianno flakes fell off the fries and no truffle flavor found by a few of us. Asked for salt and pepper, twice, finally got a salt cellar and waiter standing there with large pepper grinder. No salt and pepper shakers? My Mai Tia was great, like a real Mai Tia, saying that I bet most people won’t like it because it’s not like what they get in most places. My wife ordered a steak (menu in use there doesn’t totally like up with menu on web site), was cooked per request but she said it was fatty. Waiter was for the most part good, food and drinks took an appropriate time.
