We really enjoyed the service and food at Willie G’s for Valentines. We had the Fried calamari and Crab cakes as appetizers. Both were really good. The Calamari is served with 2 sauces. The Crab cakes are served with the sauces on the plate and several crab fingers. Really good. We had the “Actual Surf & Turf” meal. Not what is being shown on Instagram. We had them add Crab meat and shrimp on top of the steak. It was really good. The waiter was nice and friendly. She informed us of all the options for each meal. I really appreciate it. We will be returning in future. Thanks for your services.

Had a fantastic birthday dinner tonight! Was very pleased with every meal, appetizers and entrees both phenomenal. Mario was an amazing server and he had great recommendations to help when we didn’t know what to order. He also heard we were celebrating my birthday and surprised me with such a nice display for our dessert. Both seafood and steaks were cooked perfectly and I can be a snob about seafood 🙂 definitely will be coming back and looking forward to trying new menu items. Btw the blueberry cheesecake is to die for

It’s a good spot to get dressed up and eat seafood. The grilled oysters are excellent, Rockefeller and the Bourbon Street are awesome.
The market on King crab is high and these were not my favorite, best try something with some flavor.
Do not pass on dessert. They were delicious. I could have ordered a couple others to go.

I visited Willie G’s this afternoon for their Christmas Buffett, and at $69, it was a great experience. There was an impressive variety of options from appetizers and entrees to sides and desserts and everything I tried was good.

The food stayed fresh and was constantly being replenished, which made a big difference. They even had a prime rib carving station and sushi selections, which really elevated the spread. It was the perfect way to spend Christmas enjoying great food without having to prepare it myself. I would absolutely do this again.

We celebrated our anniversary here. We came during lunch time and were seated in the bar area. Lunch crowd was nice because it wasn’t overly crowded.
Just a heads up to whoever is bringing a baby, there was not a changing table in the women’s restroom.

Food was delicious, we started with the Bourbon Osyters, crab cakes and burnt ends.
The bourbon osyters were really good.
My husband loved the burnt ends with the Cole slaw.

Main course
Waygu ribeye for my husband
Crab stuffed flounder for me
Sides: Mac and cheese and king crab fried rice

All was delicious, the ribeye was cooked to perfection! The flounder was nice and light.
Mac n cheese and king crab fried rice were good.
I would try different sides next time, the Brussels sprouts sounded great.

Drinks: old fashioned, spicy margarita and espresso martini

Old fashioned, a little on the sweeter side but nonetheless good.
The spicy margarita was excellent, great flavor.
The espresso martini was good too a little on the sweeter side for me personally.

We had the apple crumble for dessert which was very good.

Overall good atmosphere, elegant.

Favorite seafood spot in town. Great service and even greater food. From the etouffee, to the poboy and all the way up to the beignets. It was perfect for a casual dinner.

We celebrated an early Valentines dinner here and were filled with happy memories and tummies.

My wife and I are passionate about dining out. It’s our thing, especially on special occasions when we like to treat ourselves to upscale restaurants. We’ve been to many places of similar caliber such as Eddie V’s, La Griglia, Little’s Oyster Bar, Morton’s, Steak 48, and Truluck’s, to name a few. We understand that things happen and no experience is always perfect. However, we do hold high expectations at restaurants of this level, because that’s exactly what you’re paying for.

This was our first time at Willie G’s, and unfortunately, our waitress fell short by a significant margin.

I wouldn’t say her attitude was bad, but it certainly wasn’t up to par for the caliber of restaurant we chose to dine at. She would take a very long time to check on us, walking right past our table without so much as asking if we needed anything. I understand that sometimes staff can be short-handed, but at a restaurant of this level, management should ensure that doesn’t happen, and it was clear there was no shortage of servers on the floor. In fact, we received better service from the bus staff clearing tables. They were the ones who actually brought us items we never received from our waitress.

My food arrived well before my wife’s, and I’m not talking a couple of minutes. She had to wait at least 15 minutes after I was served. I was nearly finished with my meal before hers even hit the table. We don’t believe in letting our food get cold waiting on each other, so that made for an awkward dining experience.

But what really topped it off was the bread situation. We were expecting some kind of bread or appetizer to start, as you’d get at nearly every other restaurant at this price point. It appeared Willie G’s doesn’t offer that, so we ordered garlic bread. Our waitress never put the order in. When we asked about it 20 minutes later, she apologized and said she forgot. Then she never put it in the second time either. We never got our garlic bread.

This was Friday night before Valentine’s Day. My wife and I intentionally chose to go out the night before to avoid the crowds and enjoy a better experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as planned, and that’s truly disappointing.

We’re confident we would have had a much better experience at any number of the thousands of other great options Houston has to offer.

The food itself was great. I’ll give credit where it’s due. But my advice to the management team: please pay closer attention to your front-of-house staff. Servers need to be focused, courteous, and attentive. Their job is to make people’s dining experiences great and memorable, not like ours.

We won’t mention our server’s name because regardless of our experience, we don’t want to get anyone in trouble. In fact, we still left a solid 15% tip, even though the service was more in line with 5 to 10 percent. We always leave 20%, but unfortunately, this experience didn’t warrant it.

We had such a great time at Willie G’s Seafood! The food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating a birthday. Our waiter, Ethan, was fantastic! You honestly can’t miss him because he’s so tall. He really made the night easy and enjoyable.

A big thanks to Ryan, the manager, who went out of his way to make the birthday feel extra special. Little touches like that made the whole evening memorable. We’ll definitely be coming back!
