Gabriele’s Italian Steakhouse fills the void in the Fairfield County dining scene with the quintessential steakhouse. It brings together America’s two favorite cuisines under one location. Located right next to Westport Playhouse former Paul Newman’s Dressing Room Restaurant. The menu, is a contemporary take on classic Italian and steakhouse fare – only better. The steaks are hand selected, prime beef, both wet and dry aged, seasoned with sea salt, crushed peppercorns and prepared with a custom built, high heat broiler which sears each cut to perfection.

Excellent restaurant. Right next door to the Westport playhouse. Very pricy (125-150pp). Service was impeccable. We had tbone steak which was huge. Brussel sprouts on the side was amazing. If ordering the steak, get the souflee since it takes 30 minutes to make the dessert. We were celebrating our anniversary and had a gift card so it took some of the sting off the bill. We probably won’t be back though because of the prices but still recommend highly.

This was a hard one for me, I read many good reviews before coming here but our experience was average at best. There is no charm in this restaurant, we sat in a large plain room with white tablecloths, could have been anywhere. The tables were spaced nicely so you didn’t feel cramped. The food was all fine, absolutely nothing memorable but our overall issue was that the main course was not hot, it was warm at best which was very disappointing and underwhelming. To be fair we were here on New Year’s Eve and they were completely packed, but if you can’t deliver quality at high volumes then you shouldn’t accept high volumes. Appetizers were good, burrata salad and oysters. The caviar addition was a nice twist. Bread service was good and stuffed bread was tasty. The tomahawk could have been seasoned better and we asked for medium and it was served closer to rare. The lobster was cooked well. The potatoes were also under seasoned for my liking and a little bland. It all may have tasted better if it were hotter. This entire meal was fired and then sat in the kitchen before serving, that is the only way it could have been so cold. Dessert was nothing special, a plate of average pastries. Im not sure if we hit on an off night but don’t think we will be going back.

Went for the prix fixe lunch. It was incredible. The roasted tomato soup with grilled cheese..phenomenal. The rigatoni was superb. Hubby had a delicious meatball and the drinks were delicious! What a beautiful spot! We will be back!

We had an 8:30 PM reservation on New Year’s Eve, and everyone booked for that same time slot was crammed into the doorway, half outside in the frigid cold, waiting over 20 minutes for tables. For a high-end, pricey restaurant, this level of mismanagement is unacceptable.

There was no attempt to ease the wait — no welcome drinks, no apology, no acknowledgment at all. The experience felt disorganized from the moment we arrived.

The DJ didn’t start until 11:30 PM, and there were no New Year’s Eve hats, favors, or celebratory touches, which was surprising given the event pricing. At $185 per person before tax and gratuity, the food and overall experience did not justify the cost. My steak was cooked to medium but was medium well with a an overly burnt sear.

I come here often for regular dinners and am usually impressed, which makes this even more disappointing. Unfortunately, after this NYE experience, I will not be returning

Celebrated my birthday here with family and it was a great pick for a special night out. We went early evening before the dinner rush. Even with a few large parties, the atmosphere felt lively but not too loud. Parking was easy with their private lot.

The décor is elegant, and the illuminated bottle display behind the bar really adds to the upscale feel. We sat in the main dining room and could comfortably hold a conversation.

We started with the grilled polpo and ahi tuna tartare — both fresh and well executed. I ordered the T-bone medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The table also enjoyed filet mignon, mezzi rigatoni alla vodka with shrimp, and pappardelle bolognese. Sides of Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic-honey glaze and baked spinach au gratin were excellent. Chocolate soufflé for dessert was the perfect ending.

Portions were satisfying without being heavy. Bathrooms were very clean, though the entryway floor was a bit slippery. I’d definitely return and recommend it for a special occasion.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable steakhouse experience, look no further than Gabriele’s of Westport. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch.
The highlight of the night was the tomahawk steak—perfectly cooked to a beautiful medium-rare with a rich, flavorful crust. Every bite was tender and packed with smoky, beefy goodness. The sides complemented the meal perfectly, and the drinks were expertly crafted, adding to the overall experience.
Everything was absolutely delicious, and I can confidently say this place is a must-visit for any steak lover. Fully recommended!

Gabriel’s of Westport Steakhouse absolutely knocked it out of the park!

We had an incredible dinner, and the Wagyu steak special was truly out of this world perfectly cooked, unbelievably flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. The desserts were just as impressive, rich, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the meal.

What really made the night special, though, was the experience. The staff surprised us by getting together to sing Happy Birthday for my friend, which was such a fun and memorable touch. The drinks were excellent, the service was on point, and every single staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely great.

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. I would 100% come back and highly recommend Gabriel’s to anyone looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience.
