The mead was a perfect touch too.
Simo was very helpful & super friendly.
We loved it so much that we came back the next day to try out the coffee…
And we ended up eating lunch too!
The food was delicious! And our waitress “J”, was fun, and friendly.
She recognized my daughter from D & D critical role play on you tube which added for fun conversation.
My kids were here to celebrate Christmas and this was truly the highlight of tge weekend! Besides sharing the time together.
I can’t say enough good….
Just….GO THERE!! Time travel back in time.
You won’t be disappointed !
A group of friends and I came here on a weekday evening for axe throwing and drinks and had a fantastic time.
The vibe is immaculate and the building is super neat and quixotic. The medieval theme runs deep and all of the decor and lighting feels straight out of the middle ages.
The owner is friendly and he was the perfect amount of instructional with the novice members in our axe throwing group without being micro-managing.
I had the Lemon Ginger Zyn Turmeric drink and the mediterranean grilled cheese, and both were fantastic.
Such an awesome gem in the middle of a relatively average area of the state.
Will definitely be back!
We ordered the Smoked Hungarian Ham & Gouda sandwich with Hungarian chicken & mushroom soup, plus a hibiscus tea, a jasmine blackberry tea, and pretzel bites with beer cheese. Every bite and sip was outstanding — the flavors were rich, fresh, and truly unique. The Smoked Hungarian ham (sourced from a butcher in Connecticut) elevated the sandwich to something unforgettable, and the prices were shockingly reasonable for the quality. This meal exceeded all expectations!
The atmosphere is like stepping straight into the Middle Ages. Between the authentic knight’s armor, axe throwing area, boar’s head, and carefully thought-out décor, you really feel immersed in another time and place.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Joseph, the owner who is originally from Hungary — such a welcoming and friendly host with a personality that perfectly matches the vibe of the Abbey. Our servers, Emily and Riley, were equally amazing: warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
From start to finish, this was a top-tier experience. If we could give Ravenstone Abbey 10 stars, we absolutely would. Do yourself a favor — stop in, enjoy the food, soak up the atmosphere, and meet the incredible people who make this place what it is. We’ll definitely be back!
I got to chat with the owner for a bit and she was absolutely lovely. I was curious about their Walnut Roll – Hungarian ‘Diós Bejgli’ dish I saw on the menu and she explained it’s because her husband is from Hungary. The whole place’s design is very well and make sure to keep your eye out as there are little cool details all around.
They’ve got axe throwing with professionals that will guide you through and I wanted to go but unfortunately timing didn’t work out but I definitely would recommend other people to check into that if they’re interested and will try my luck the next time I come.
