I have been eating here semi regularly for the past 10 years now going on 11. The owners & everyone who works at Golden Wok are always friendly, they take their time when noting orders & I have not once had an order been incorrect – none. I feel I have a valid opinion on this, due to the fact I have eaten here so many times – give this place a shot, you won’t regret it! Highly recommend going in person versus DD or UE, you’ll have a completely different experience with the food.

The teriyaki chicken over white rice is my personal go to, truly the best in the state. I used to drive an hour & a half up from Lexington to get my fill of it. Looking forward to maybe grabbing some tonight!

I’m 4 for 4 on menu items I enjoyed at Golden Wok (mongolian beef, szechuan chicken, shrimp fried rice, honey BBQ spare ribs), very solid westernized Chinese food list. The “honey BBQ spare ribs” are red BBQ pork aka char siu. Staff are super nice, portions are great, prices VERY reasonable for 2026.

Would give zero stars if I could…..

EDIT / ADDENDUM: I called the restaurant after writing this review and throwing the food out.
They had Lucy (?) call me back. She said she’d refund our money if we brought the food back.
We placed most of the uneaten food in the delivery bag, but some was literally hard to dig out of the garbage, so I took a photo of it. The male (owner?) was smug, offensive and quite argumentative, argued with us, said there was nothing left of the vegetables, and was going to pay us only $13 for the returned Pad Thai. He also denied any knowledge of the female who called us back. What happened to customer service and making this right? I was going to entirely remove this review, but after arguing with us for over 5 minutes, here it is….
My husband ordered dinner through Uber Eats tonight. Looked up the reviews here. several very complimentary, so we ordered…
Besides paying extra for priority delivery, it was late and cold and needed to be reheated.
THIS is a DINNER PORTION? These portions are skimpy even for a lunch portion. Even if the food was 5/5 (it wasn’t), I’m giving less stars because this is a rip off.
The chicken skewers were greasy considering they are supposed to be grilled. The mixed vegetables with garlic sauce, although a decent mix (broccoli, carrots, green peppers, water chestnuts and mushrooms), had NO hint of garlic

sauce whatsoever, or spiciness ( an option when ordering). Also, we could choose what we wanted with the vegetables: white rice, Lo mein, fried rice, etc. The white rice we chose was in the container with the veggies, not in a standard separate white takeout box, and occupying a good portion where the veggies should have been.
The pad Thai was bland, spice-less and very skimpy with the chicken. “Inedible” per my husband and I threw mine out. NEVER have I done that. What a waste of $40.00. ( NEVER have I called a restaurant like I did tonight; thank goodness I never had to).
Bottom line: CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE:(

I and my husband walked in to order food and the girl was so so rude said everything with and attitude. Rolling her eyes the whole time while taking our order. So my husband said to her never mind. And we walked out. I don’t know if it was because we where black. Our what but she was straight up rude to us from the moment we walked in. Never again will we go there.

Worst experience ever. Will not return. We eat here 3x per week most weeks without any major issue and enjoy this food. Today the price was different ( we always order the exact same food). When I asked about this and showed my checking account where it’s always the same price I was told to look at the menu and asked if I was in the right place. I said I pick food up from you multiple times a week and now all of a sudden I’m a total stranger? They walked away from me and kept saying I don’t know. Clearly changing prices whenever and no one is paying attention or caring I guess. Sick over this as this was the best Chinese food we have found and we love it and it’s always such a treat. BEWARE.

I usually don’t have any issues but today I did. I gave them 2 orders plus I ordered 2 orders of crab Rangoons. When I got home it was 2 egg rolls. I called and the lady that has the mean voice answered and I explained what happened. I told her I wasn’t coming back to get any. She should have credited me but instead she hung up on me. She was rude to begin with. It’s ashame because I normally do not have any issues when I go there.

Pineapple chicken was amazing, the chicken was tender and flavorful! I got lo main as my side and it was some of the best I’ve had! I love seeing the kids playing outside and coming in to cool off- makes for a safe, welcoming establishment!

I decided to try out this Chinese restaurant after seeing some positive reviews, but my experience was far from what I expected. My order was for takeout, and the interaction over the phone should have been my first red flag. The woman taking my order was rude, rushed me through the call, and didn’t even tell me the total—just said it would be ready in 10 minutes.

When I arrived to pick up the food, I was shocked to find that the total was $50 for just two meals, which included egg rolls and crab rangoons. That price felt way too high for what we got, but at that point, I was already there and just hoped the food would be worth it.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t.

Lo Mein: Extremely disappointing. The noodles were way overcooked, making them mushy, and the dish itself was completely bland—no seasoning, no flavor, just a pile of tasteless noodles.

Fried Rice: One of the few redeeming parts of the meal. It had good flavor and was cooked well.

Bourbon Chicken: Actually really good. It was flavorful, well-cooked, and had a nice balance of sweetness and smokiness. If anything, this was the highlight of the meal.

Crab Rangoons: Just okay. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either—about a 6/10. They lacked the rich, creamy filling that makes a great crab rangoon.

Egg Rolls: Nothing special. Definitely not worth the inflated price.

First time visit and I was pleased to see reviews that said “good sized portions”. I was disappointed. A very small lunch portion, I was left needing more. I can say, however, it was very fresh, tasty food. Maybe they gave me the wrong portion by mistake. I’ll edit my review later if I chance eating there again.
