A classic spot for an American breakfast. The food is very average. The quality is decent, but the taste leaves much to be desired. The place is completely packed in the mornings — quite noisy. Service is fast but not perfect, and there’s almost no atmosphere — very utilitarian: you come, eat, chat with everyone, and leave.

I’m not a fan of places like this, but some people might like it.

Would give this place 5 stars but they’re kind of proud of their food. It’s really good and the service was second to none. Just a bit pricey. The omelet casserole is a first for us and both my wife and I had it. Super customizable so you get what you want. I heard my wife bragging to a friend later about how good hers was. The potato pancakes were also super yummy. And it comes with a nice helping of super fresh fruit.
We will definitely be back, but it won’t likely be our regular breakfast stop due to the prices.

Absolutely amazing breakfast spot in Belmont Heights!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was beautiful with great ambience — warm, welcoming, and just a great place to start your day. The food was outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best breakfast we’ve had in Long Beach.

Johnny truly made the experience special. His service was top-tier — incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell he really cares about the guests and takes pride in what he does.

The entire staff was amazing, the energy was positive, and everything from the food to the service to the vibe was on point. This place is a gem in Belmont Heights and we’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

Highly recommend!
And try the lemon cake

The Breakfast Bar is a causal breakfast and lunch spot popular amongst local. They’re located on The corner of Redondo ave. and E 4th street in Long Beach.

I was greeted by a young female hostess and sat at the corner table by the window. Their menu has a breadth of food and drink items. Its interior decor was modern with an upbeat atmosphere. My adorable server, Trish, was assiduous and professional.

For food, I ordered a Lemon Pancakes x scrambled eggs and avocado. And for drinks, I had coffee and oj. I liked my drink but not so much the food. However, my lemon pancakes were bloody dry and crumbled easily; eggs x avocado were good. Service was spot on. Staff were amazing. Prices were on the high end of its market value. Parking lot was unavailable but plenty of street parking.

Overall, I think it a modest local breakfast spot.

The Breakfast Bar on 4th and Redondo is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right – fun, energetic, and welcoming.
Our server Sergio was fantastic – attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. And Johnny behind the bar? What a star! His creativity and knowledge really shine through in every drink. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and it shows in the quality of the cocktails.
The atmosphere here is something special. It’s got that perfect balance of laid-back Long Beach cool with just the right amount of energy to make brunch feel like an event. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just treating yourself to a great morning out, this is the spot.
Can’t wait to come back and see what Johnny whips up next time. If you’re in Long Beach, do yourself a favor and check out The Breakfast Bar – you won’t regret.

A really fun and comfortable place with a great menu selection of enhanced breakfast and lunch items suitable for all times a day. The staff were friendly and accommodating and seemed genuinely happy.

The location was in a primarily residential area with decent street parking.

A fun and delicious experience.

I’d give 6 stars for the whole experience if I could…this place, the people and the food are all wonderful. I had the seasonal bulgogi Benedict and it was hella good. The coffee was terrific and even better at a San Jose Carl. Angela aka Vangela was awesome too, full of light and happiness…perfect vibes and way to star the day!

Ordered the belgian waffle combo with bacon and scrabled eggs. Each and every element of the dish was the best I’d ever had; best bacon, best eggs, and best waffle. I was absolutely astounded by the food, and the service staff was very attentive. Absolute perfection. Cannot recommed enough and I’m going to tell all my friends immediately.
