We started with their seared ahi tuna and their salmon crab cake and for the mains, we ordered their newly added dry aged new your steak, surf & turf and their green salad! Phenomenal! The dry age new york steak had so much flavor and was juicy! I would also like to mention our AMAZING servers Amanda and Taylee! Both were very professional and attentive throughout or dinner!
If you are looking for something close and intimate with amazing food, Nevada Steak is your place!
The food can be hit and miss. It’s odd to say “go to a steakhouse and have the chicken parm” but it’s a fantastic, consistent dish at NV steak. The lobster bisque is super tasty but lacks lobster. The French onion soup is also good on a winters night. The chopped salad is very good as well but they managed to screw up a Caesar salad pretty well! For whatever reason, they don’t use romaine lettuce for the Caesar salad…they use some other bitter, chewy lettuce that could become tumble weed if left out more than an hour.
The steak here is very hit and miss. Some filets are excellent and the next week, it can be awful. They use a lower grade of beef which is part of the issue. The Old Bay fries are not very good either and the mushroom ravioli comes with rocks on top of it…don’t get the ravioli if you like your teeth!
Overall, great service, decent food and while they’d be much more profitable making this space into a sports bar (like it used to be), it’s not awful for a dinner. If they were smart, they’d combine with Bully’s and put a Bully’s in this space and have $.75 wing nights for Monday Night Football and pizza specials on Wednesdays.
We dined using the Sunset Menu, which is an excellent value and thoughtfully structured to provide a full three course experience. From the start, the pacing of the meal felt intentional and relaxed, allowing each course to be enjoyed without feeling rushed.
The pork appetizer was a strong opening to the evening. It was flavorful and well seasoned, with a richness that felt indulgent while still being balanced. The portion size was ideal for sharing and did a great job setting expectations for the quality of the kitchen.
The salads that followed were fresh and well composed. The greens were crisp and vibrant, and the dressings were balanced without being heavy. This course worked perfectly as a transition into the main dishes, providing brightness and contrast before the heartier entrees.
For the main courses, the filet mignon stood out as the highlight of the meal. It was cooked precisely to the requested temperature, exceptionally tender, and full of natural beef flavor. The seasoning allowed the quality of the meat to shine, and the accompanying sides complemented the steak without overpowering it. For a Sunset Menu offering, the filet felt generous and thoughtfully executed.
The chicken entree was equally impressive. It was moist and well seasoned, avoiding the dryness that often plagues chicken dishes at steakhouses. The preparation felt elevated and comforting at the same time, making it an excellent option for those looking for something lighter while still enjoying a high quality main course.
Dessert concluded the meal on a refreshing note with sorbet ice cream. It was smooth and clean tasting, providing a light and satisfying finish that did not feel overly sweet or heavy. It served as a perfect palate cleanser after a well rounded dinner.
Overall, Nevada Steak delivers an experience that exceeds expectations, especially when dining from the Sunset Menu. The food is consistently well prepared, the service is polished and attentive, and the value is exceptional for the quality offered. Whether you are looking for a reliable steakhouse dinner or a relaxed yet refined night out in Reno, Nevada Steak is absolutely worth returning to.
Our food was excellant. We both had rib eye with blue cheese. Our carmel taffey desert was delicious . The service was great. We will definately be back
It was my wife’s birthday and I told the waitress that I’d buy dessert if they bring it out to her. They did perfect and they ended up not charging us for it. Bomb bomb 5 star all day long. The only thing I didn’t review is the alcohol. We don’t drink so we never had any wine or mixed drinks.
