I love Prince street out in San Diego, and although this location had great pizza, I was totally disappointed in the fact that they had NOTHING fresh at dinner hour. The nice kid behind the counter said it would be anywhere from 15-30 mins before anything new was out, so I elected to come back. 30 minutes later all they managed to get out was one original and one naughty pie and still had all the old looking slices that were from when I first came in…. It’s dinner hour, that case should be full and fresh. I watched several people come in and leave right away.

Super cool place with a cool vibe. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly. The Mercer Margherita slice was okay, but lacked flavor. The Meat Lovers slice was really good. Pretty pricey. Nowhere really to sit except outside and around the corner at another restaurant.

The pizza is good, quality ingredients from what I can tell, tasted good, wasn’t floppy and sloppy, but it’s not $41.99 for a pizza good. I mean what are we doing here? It’s bread (mostly bread) some vodka sauce, cupping pepperonis, and some cheese.

I got it with a deal on Uber eats so it only cost me 28.99, and at that price it’s perfect, but if I paid full price I’d be a little disappointed.

Ate a 2nd piece to get a second opinion and raised it a star, it’s good pizza, don’t get me wrong.

Last year while living in NYC, I went on a mission to find the best slice in all of New York and Long Island. Honestly, it was one of my favorite adventures from our time there — though I probably gained 20 pounds along the way!

Now that I’m back in the Valley, I was super excited to hear that Prince Street Pizza had opened in Tempe. In New York, I was never a full-on fanboy of Prince Street — don’t get me wrong, it’s good pizza, but it didn’t crack my personal top 10. Still, I couldn’t wait to see how they’d translate here.

First impressions? They nailed the dough and crust. Crisp on the bottom, chewy in the middle — exactly what you’d expect from a true New York slice. Where they lost me a bit was the sauce. For me, it was a little one-note, and it looks like they’re using sliced mozzarella instead of shredded. That’s just a personal preference, but I found myself wanting a little more cheese to balance things out.

The regular cheese slice was solid — I’m giving it a 7.2/10. The spicy pepperoni was definitely better, with that signature kick, earning a 7.8/10. Both are good, honest slices, but not the kind that blow your mind.

What I will say is that Prince Street brings that New York vibe with them. The energy, the look, the feel — it all fits. I’m glad they’ve opened here in Arizona, and I’ll definitely go back to give the full menu a shot. For now, though, they’re just barely hanging on in my Valley top five.

Been wanting to try this in New York but haven’t gotten the chance too. So tried it here.

The workers were really nice.

The pizza was okay. The pizza in the glass case didn’t really look appetizing.

I ordered the naughty pie. Slices are huge. Also got the gluten free meat lovers. They were okay. Not sure if I will be back. It’s more of a grab and go spot.

Dine in is not an option. Take your pizza and eat it somewhere else lol. Celebrity’s visit this place lol. I can think of 8 better pizza places in AZ.
Pizza was good. Very expensive for some slices though. Bott soda was pricey like $5
Glad I tried it. Probably won’t be back.

Checked out the new Prince Street Pizza in Tempe and finally got to try their vodka sauce pie with pepperoni, ricotta, and hot honey — and wow, it did not disappoint. The place has that classic New York energy: loud, fast, and packed.

The vodka sauce was the real standout creamy, tangy, and just rich enough to make every bite feel special without being too heavy. The pepperoni was perfectly crisped, and there was plenty of it in every slice. The crust had that ideal combo of crispy edge and chewy center!

Worth the hype and we will definitely be going back.

Before the Tempe location opened, I saw the exterior of the building and felt excited to try it once it opened as a pizza place.

I researched Prince St. Pizza and discovered that it originally opened in New York City in 2012. Pizza is my favorite food, and I enjoy a good New York-style slice of pizza.

The Tempe location had its grand opening on August 28th. Upon hearing about the length of the line that day, I decided to try it for myself the following day.

I got there about half an hour after they opened, and there was already a considerably long line outside the door. Regardless, I got in line and waited.

As I approached the building’s entrance, I noticed that Prince St. Pizza had a rewards program. Once I realized I could earn bonus points simply by signing up, I decided I could not pass up the opportunity.

The staff warmly greeted me upon entering the building. Based on what I saw from the inside, I realized it was a grab-and-go kind of pizza place (which was okay with me).

When it was my turn to order, one of the staff members asked me how my day was going, and I replied that it was going well while asking them how theirs was. He said he appreciated my asking how he was doing before inquiring about the pizza I would like to try. Since it was my first time, I tried their simplest slice, the Neapolitan Original Prince (their version of a cheese pizza). It was one of the best New York-style pizzas I have ever had.

I have since returned and tried their Sicilian Meat Lovers slices, which were not only delicious but also had a texture that reminded me of garlic bread.

It also helps that my job is within walking distance of the restaurant.

I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a great New York-style pizza in Tempe.

Guys behind counter were super friendly! Unfortunately pizza was very disappointing, almost no sauce whatsoever on the vodka sauce pie that we were so excited to try…tastes like straight cheese melted on dough. The dough for the thick square cut pie tastes stale (if that’s even possible), not fresh, not baked throughout and we were looking forward to that crispy edge crust and soft exterior…neither were achieved. Far better pizza at even your basic chains and frozen food section. I’ve had Prince Street in NYC and this doesn’t compare – I wasn’t expecting it to be equivalent, but it wasn’t even in same realm. The pepperoni were good that was a positive. I don’t like to leave negative reviews and I also don’t like to pay $80 for two medium pizzas that were lackluster and disappointing to my crew. I feel bad I chose this spot and let them down with my pick. I would say try a slice and avoid the disappointment of a large order.

I was excited to stop by the new Prince Street Pizza Tempe. This Moreno family pizzeria first opened in New York City in 2012, serving legendary Sicilian “SoHo” square slices and Neapolitan-style pizza. They bring you the New York City slice shop experience to Tempe. I met the manager, Morgan, and his really nice staff. He hooked me up with a nice selection of slices, one more delicious-looking than the next. Their menu offers pizza by the slice or the whole pie. I got to try wonderful slices like “The Original Prince,” “Naughty Pie,” “Spicy Vodka Sauce Square,” and my favorite, “The Meat Lovers.” They use the freshest ingredients, imported Pecorino Romano and mozzarella cheeses, and use a special filtration system to replicate New York City water used for the dough. Needless to say thier pizza is amazing! So if you’re looking for great New York-style pizza, this is the place.
