Meal was very good… however, I requested my broccoli double cooked and still, it was as though only hot water had been run across it- they were hot but practically raw and hard.
Server was very nice about returning broccoli to the kitchen to be re-cooked.
Sirloin was very good!

The bartender, Wilson, is hysterical. The food was great and the service was awesome. I couldn’t care less about garbishes and unnecessarily priced food. I like to have fun. We were laughing the entire time and never had an empty glass.

Every time we’ve been to Larkin’s Carolina Grill in Columbus we say we’ll never go back. Most of those times the food was So-So (but leaving us with the feeling that we’d made a mistake with our food selection) and the service was decent. Last night the food was actually pretty good, but the service was horrible.

We actually sat with our food in front of us for over 8 minutes, without eating utensils! The waiter recognized that we had no silverware when he brought our food, but proceeded to talk with another guest about the menu and take their order before bringing us something to eat with.

After finishing our meal we waited about 10 minutes for the bill. Once the waiter took our credit card for the charge, he was gone for over 10 minutes to process. We thought he’d left for the evening and forgot to bring our card back.

We arrived to eat about 8:15pm. It was not busy, we were one of only two tables outside. The waiter seemed oblivious to his lack of attention to us (and ignorance of the menu, I won’t go into that). He was a very nice guy, just not “attentive” customer service material.

I’ve read many good reviews of this place and can’t figure out why our experiences have always been so different. Even our company Christmas party was full of food problems here. All I can say is, we won’t go to Larkin’s in Columbus again (unless we’re just desperate like last night). It’s worth the drive to Lake Lure where Larkin’s On The Lake is always fantastic!

My wife celebrated her birthday at Larkin’s with 20 friends. We had an awesome experience. The food was fabulous, and our waitress Amanda Jean Austin did an outstanding job! All the staff/manager were very accommodating in meeting our special requests for the birthday party! Thank you to all.

Food is very good. Really nice atmosphere and attentive staff.

All for a reasonable price. They have live music on weekends.

Went back today, 2/13/18. Everything was great with one exception.

We had two desert cakes that were a bit dry and had that refrigerator taste.

It was a like disappointing but, overall it was another great experience.

The shrimp and grits were definitely not Charleston-level: somewhat bland to me. More gravy and some ham would be nice. Great food presentation. Sunday brunch was simply OKAY. A bit expensive. They had an omelette bar, but again, expensive. The sandwiches looked really good. Perhaps my review will improve the next time I go.

Absolutely disgraceful service. Waited for more than an hour and half to get our food and when finally served they had forgotten 1 meal. We were without drinks for more than 45 min and despite flagging this bringing the water pitcher was still too much to ask for.
When we complained the waiter started yelling at us and tried intimating us. We asked to see the manager numerous times but unsuccessful so after getting nowhere with this rude waiter we ended up leaving.
Not even worth 1 star !!!!!!

Service is always slow, slow, slow! Do not go hungry because it takes over an hour and a half just to get a sandwich and fries. (Fries, which incidentally, tasted liked they were yesterday’s leftovers). The poor waitress
always gets blamed for the snail-like pace of food production and probably it is she who suffers in lack of tips. However, she was working hard to provide good service for her customers and hopefully everyone knows she has no control of the kitchen staff. Obviously the management is and always has been nonexistent in this place. We have made our last visit there.

Band was great, food was great, hostess was non-existent and bartender was cranky. I guess they were short staffed. We will return but hope the staff issue is resolved..our waitress was sweet as she coud be and apologized without being negative or ugly.

I’ve been to Larkin’s twice now because I work in Columbus. The first time, I tried the Prime Rib French Dip, which was quite disappointing. However, that was a few months ago, so when my husband came to join me for my break, I thought we could just go there and split a burger.

The service was SLOW, despite the fact that it wasn’t terribly busy. When we finally ordered our burger, we specified that we’d like it medium rare. The server even repeated it back to us, so I know she didn’t get confused. What came out was WELL done and had, for some strange reason, been cut in half on the griddle before having cheese placed on it. I can only assume the cook was checking how done it was and lacked the knowledge to verify it any other way. However, why he or she cut it in half, saw it was overcooked, and then decided to put it cheese, etc. on it and serve it anyway is beyond me. Of course, I might have felt slightly more forgiving on that point had it come out in less than 20 minutes.

Our server mostly ignored us, perhaps because we were a two top splitting a sandwich, so our drinks were never refilled. Of course, judging from the rest of the tables, I don’t think anyone was particularly happy with wait times.

I gave it two stars because, despite being slow, not terribly good, and overpriced, there aren’t too many options in Columbus and this, while not on our list anymore, isn’t the worst place in the world. Plus, they do serve alcohol. According to a co-worker, the best thing on the menu is the beer. Just make sure you sit at the bar so you’ll actually get a refill.
