Honestly, hand on heart, the best Thai food I have ever eaten in the UK. The flavours are incredible, the portions are generous, the atmosphere is wonderful, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Brighton. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

We visited Tookta’s restaurant by chance and had such a lovely evening. The food was delicious, well-priced, and clearly cooked with care. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and we ended up having a great chat and lots of laughs with Tookta herself, who has been running the restaurant for 16 years.

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food in Brighton and want to support a small local business, I’d really recommend paying them a visit. We’ll definitely be back.

We went last night after not being able to get in last week and it did not disappoint, amazing food and the service was amazing, the owner and the rest of the team were lovely. Although I am moving out of brighton whenever I am back I will definitely be visiting, sad to have found this only now after living here for 2 years!!!

The menu was also gluten free friendly!!

I’ve lived in Brighton for over 20-years and only found this place tonight….and what a find! Excellent food, great ambience and top notch service. Honestly one of the best Thai meals I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy, full of flavour, and definitely cooked with passion. The fact my partner told me 3 times whilst eating his main ‘I’m coming back to this place’ was testament to how we both felt! If you’re out of town or lucky enough to be local, it’s a must visit! You can thank me later!

Honestly some of the best Thai food I’ve eaten outside of Thailand. When I lived locally I visited a lot, now I live in London it’s harder to visit but whenever I do it’s always incredible – no matter how long it’s been since my last meal there.

It’s a small place. Hasn’t changed much over the years, which is its charm.

I love the people who own/run Tooktas. Such friendly people and always pop out of the kitchen for a chat and a laugh. Even after all these years they still recognise me, it feels personal and comforting to come here.

Favourite dish is the Massaman with beef. Red Thai is spot on too.

It just makes me happy to come here, and I’m sure most people would agree

Had a lovely experience at Tookta! The food was absolutely delicious – very authentic Thai flavours and clearly made with care.

The service was just as wonderful. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming, making it feel like a warm, local gem rather than just a restaurant.

One of the best Thai meals I’ve had in Brighton – highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Absolutely worth waiting for our meal to be cooked fresh in this backstreet Thai restaurant!
We went in late November on a Wednesday. I had red Thai curry & my wife had beef Pad Thai with rice noodles as our mains. Thai food is usually reliably good – this was spectacular!
Will be returning!

Brilliant little Thai restaurant. Family run, Tookta is a brilliant cook serving a small range of Thai staple dishes. All dishes are cooked using fresh ingredients, taste fantastic and are excellent value.
We are regulars and Tookta is a very amenable and engaging host, always ready to cook to taste and keep her customers happy. The restaurant is cosy and inviting and well worth looking for, just off Western Road. A welcome change from mainly chain restaurants in the area, highly recommended.

Stumbled across this lovely little restaurant yesterday evening. Despite it being a Friday, we managed to get a table. Service was great – our host even apologised for the short wait (no more than five minutes), which was completely understandable as she was running both the kitchen and front of house. Once we ordered, the food and drinks arrived quickly.

We had the spicy prawns and squid to start, which were excellent. The sauce on the prawns was so good we ended up dipping the squid in it too. For mains, we went for one stir fry and one curry, which were both just as good as the starters.

Overall, a great meal. It is a small place, so it does get busy, but that makes for a more intimate experience. Had a nice little chat with the owner afterwards as well. We’ll definitely be back (and already looking forward to it!).

Up a side street this small Thai restaurant was an excellent find. Worth searching for! We were there about 6pm, early enough not to have to book. We shared the mixed sharer starter, all fried food which we’d perhaps not choose again, still tasty and enjoyed. Our main courses were so tasty, one of the best Thai meals I’ve had. Staff were friendly and we will definitely visit again next time we’re in Brighton!
