For only one server running a full restaurant by himself, I was impressed by how calm, quick, and professional he was. Our food was delicious and came out in a reasonable about of time for how packed the place was. I definitely highly recommend the seafood pancake and Galbi! The Galbi was grilled perfectly and not overly sweet. The seafood pancake was crispy and had shrimp, squid, and I think scallops? Definitely will order again. The Soban chicken was crispy and tasty as well. Overall we had a great experience here and will be returning whenever we visit Petaluma!

Great satisfying food and service. Great vibes too. We got seated almost within 5 minutes wait time for Saturday lunch. Drinks arrived within a few minutes of ordering and food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. Kimchi spread options were amazing and very tasty. The starter (Soban chicken) is super yum! The main course (Yukgaejang) was amazing! So was the the hot Chicken bibimbap! Very satisfying food! Exactly what I was craving for! Highly recommend!!

The restaurant is small and cute. I ordered the Doenjang Jjigae soup and it was delicious. There were 6 banchan side dishes and a bowl of rice to accompany my soup. Service was prompt and polite.

This was not just a meal – it was an experience of balance and care. Every banchan was intentional, fresh and perfectly seasoned. The vegetables were vibrant, the flavors layered without being heavy and the pacing of the meal felt natural and thoughtful.
The hot stone soup was deeply nourishing and paired beautifully with the crisp, golden jeon. Nothing felt rushed or excessive – just comforting, well-prepared food made with care.
Warm service, a calm atmosphere and truly authentic Korean flavors. We will absolutely be back. And the rice was cooked to absolute perfection – review by a Korean who knows her rice!

I have gotten takeaway a few times and finally had the opportunity to dine in at Soban. I appreciate this is one of the few authentic Korean restaurants in the North Bay. Sadly a lot of the dishes were lacking.
Banchan: Good selection, their kimchi was more mature and sou. I don’t love that they charge for refills.
Gimmari: was one of the best things we ate at Soban. Crispy on the outside and the noodles on the inside were perfect.
Soban Chicken: This was the most disappointing Korean fried chicken I have had in a long time. It was dry and lacked flavor.
Pan Fried Mackerel: This was okay. Slightly overcooked but my toddler and I enjoyed it.
Kimchi Bibim Guksoo: The noodles were good but the Kimchi again was on the more mature side which made the noodles overly sour.
I would still come back to Soban given it is one of the few options for authentic Korean food in the North Bay.

I came here to eat because of the high reviews, but after entering, I had to wait at the door for an incredibly long time, the longest wait I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The female receptionist chatted nonstop with a fellow Korean customer without even glancing at the door. The male waiter, after confirming we were a couple, kept serving other customers instead of inviting us to sit. There were only three tables occupied at the time; the other four were empty. It took a while for us to sit down after we inquired again. After we ordered, we didn’t get water or banchan until we repeatedly asked for it. The banchan was the size shown in the picture, while other tables received six slightly larger bowls. Was I being targeted?

As a Korean I can say that this is the best Korean restaurant in North Bay! if you want delicious, authentic korean food, come here! Their chive pancake is always crispy and delicious. We like the dolsot bibimbap (served on hot stone pot), Kalbi and so on.

Dined here for the first time and what a treat. The servers were warm and welcoming. I was craving Korean ribs and they were excellent. I also got the spiced pork soup. I kind of wished there had been something more in it than just broth but that broth was delicious. All of the side condiments were also delicious. It was a bit pricey so we couldn’t eat here often but a nice treat once in a while.

The kimchi pancake was a bit salty. But the rest if the food was good. The fried chicken appetizer was good. The beef bulgogi was good. We also got the spicy chicken and it had a good flavor and a slight kick. And the provided plenty if side dishes like kim chi, bean sprouts and rice. The service was friendly and answered all our questions. The resturant itself is a bit small, so plan accordingly since it can get filled and crowded.
