Yesterday while I was at work in the City of Pasadena I asked around if there was something good around to try, and I got recommended one specific item which was Lamb sandwich with grilled eggplant and olives . Personally I don’t eat lamb but the fact that it comes with eggplant and olives which I love them plus was recommended I decided to go for it. Being my first time When I arrived I was totally surprised, place looks amazing and clean, I saw thru the display many cooked items I believe they are for the variety of food served here or by the pound I’m not sure, is a deli-mart place. Which has cookies, candies, drinks, wine, muffins, frozen food and more. The girl who helped me is very friendly, very helpful, the service she provided me was perfect can’t denied. Now the recommended sandwich part, well it’s was a big amount of lamb in a baguette with 2 slices of eggplant and the olives which i didn’t feel any half cut nor sliced one, it was more like the olive juice with slightly minced olives , I didn’t feel the taste or flavor of olives till I was halfway done with the sandwich. Honestly and personally I would be more exited to try a meaty sandwich if the sandwich has some mayo, some greens, grilled veggies and not only bread and meat and 2 slices of eggplant . The eggplant was perfect. Now I’m not complaining, this is only my opinion, is nothing personal or bad to anyone, nothing against anyone not the cooks , that’s the way the sandwich are done here I’m totally fine. Many people love them that way. Now the price part, I just got the sandwich to go , I think was $ 16 or 17 bucks, if anyone dining in, probably expected to pay with a drink $20 to 30 but if they serve wine then you do the numbers.

This place is amazing, a nice little marketplace, deli, and restaurant all in one. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have so many different things, huge selection for food, drinks, and snacks. A few indoor seats and a large outdoor patio. The panini I got was toasted to perfection and delicious. Overall really great place for lunch.

Porta Via catered a meal for us for 40 people. The food was fantastic! All our guests raved about it. And the staff set everything up for us and were so helpful. We would absolutely hire them again.

Oh my goodness, Porta Via rocks for sandwiches! First time here. Ordered the roasted leg of lamb, with roasted eggplant and olive tapenade, and some warmed au jous (my request). And a side chopped Brussel sprout salad. $17 out the door, and I was happy to pay it! The lamb was amazing. So was the chopped salad.

Top notch ingredients, reasonably priced, and very nice decor and ambiance both inside and out. I highly recommend Porta Via, and I will certainly be back!

This place is very quaint and airy. The eatery had open aired sitting. It’s a casual dining experience, the price is a little high for the food they serve. Nothing stood out or had a wow factor. The have a wide selection of food, but the one that was recommended by lot of reviewers was the kobe roast beef sandwich, which you can make a combo by paying 11$. This meant that you can get a side salad or a soup of the day, I chose the salad. I was very disappointed with what I got. The sandwich was bland, and the bread tasted stale. After 3 bite, I decided I didn’t want to waste anymore of my daily calorie allowance on it. So I started on my salad, which was very very disappointing as well, the mix green salad looks dirty as heck. It had the look of salad that was deteriorating because of the water that it came into contact with. So I spent most of my time picking out the gross looking greens, and really only ate the tomatoes. To make matter worse, I sat next to an employee who was on her break. The whole time she was cursing and retelling the story of her horrible date from the previous night. Half way through my meal, I decided to leave because I didn’t want to hear anymore of her rants. It was very unprofessional. Why can’t she have this convo somewhere else?

First time visit during a busy Friday lunch hour, and I was pleasantly surprised! Despite the rush, the staff was friendly and efficient. One team member (I wish I could remember her name, it was really unique!) stood out for being especially polite and quick with my to-go order. The sides were super fresh and flavorful, definitely try the crab and potato salads. Highly recommend!

Well crafted Rustic Panini using crispy warm ciabatta (I think?) with high quality prosciutto, arugula, fig marmalade. A tiny bit on the pricey side but still very reasonable, and the high quality makes up for it. It has a nice seating environment too. Great to have a joint like this in this neighborhood.

Awesome place. We love this place as a family. Food is good and owners are really nice and know what they are doing. Few new employees don’t know what they are doing but all good. Lately prices went up too much… knowing the economy, but still. Anyways, this is our favorite place to go for Italian deli! We love it!
