Reviews
They specialize in Wagyu beef smash burgers, and so far I’ve tried the HiHo burger, which reminds me of a classic double cheeseburger with mustard, and the Big Matty, which gives Big Mac vibes. I’ve also had the chicken tenders sandwich, and it honestly reminds me of Korean fried chicken. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
The space itself is pretty small with limited seating. You order at the window and then find a seat, which gives it that casual walk up burger stand vibe.
What I’m really in love with are their beef tallow fries. I actually enjoy that slightly soggy crispiness and they’re super addicting.
Overall, this spot definitely hits the spot. Just be prepared for a wait because it’s pretty popping right now.
Pros:
– quality patty, very juicy and flavorful. Was literally non stopping dripping the entire time
– I love their pickles wish I ordered extra
– grilled onions were delicious too
– tallow fries extremely crispy
– quick service. Our food came out about 12 minutes so better than I expected based on other reviews here
Cons:
– from the double wagyu patty, to tallow fries, everything is so unctuous. But half way through felt a bit heavy. Especially the fries felt overly greasy
– because Wagyu, they didn’t really flatten down the patty as much as traditional smash burger. So missing the crispy edges and smokiness I usually love
– I didn’t love the matty sauce like other reviews. Was a bit too tangy for me, just a personal preference
Overall it was a high quality burger but I couldn’t eat this more than once a month… this for sure is heavier and more of a treat than regular smash burger.
• Honey Chicken Tenders was yum! Loved how it was breaded and the portions were huge for the 2 tenders
• Skip the side of pickles unless you’re a fan of bread and butter pickles; I went in with the expectation that these would be dill
• Side of Matty sauce was worth the extra charge! It’s like a mesquite island dressing
Cost breakdown:
• HiHo (double cheese burger) $10.45
• Side of pickles $4.15
• Honey chicken tenders $12.55
• Fries $5.25
• Side of Matty sauce $1.75
*They’re a no-tipping establishment
Additional comments:
• Wait-time for a Friday night was ~15-minutes.
• Inside seating is placed pretty tight; you’re likely to bump into the table next to you
The customer service was amazing from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. The restaurant was clean, the food came out fast, and the overall vibe was welcoming.
This was one of the best burger experiences I have had in a long time. I will definitely be back, and next time I might try a milkshake too. If you have not been to HIHO yet, you are missing out. Highly recommend! add ambience out door not a lot of seating. There is another restaurant right next to it. Lots of traffic.
