The food took me straight back to the streets of Delhi. The chaat was bursting with flavor perfectly tangy and fresh. The chicken tikka masala was creamy and rich, and the chole bhature was spot on soft bhature and flavorful chole just like home. The pav bhaji was another winner, buttery and full of authentic taste.
The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive staff. I also loved the interior art and design colorful, vibrant, and full of Indian street vibes. You can tell they’ve put a lot of heart into both the food and the atmosphere.
Highly recommend this place for anyone craving real Indian flavors in Berkeley!
I am extremely disappointed with the price and the quality of the food. The yogurt in the chaat/dahi vada was way too less for the price they are charging. For a moment, I felt like they forgot to add the curd and chutneys properly. It also felt like pickup orders have more quantity than dine-in.
We ordered soya chaap, which was very basic and served with just one small slice of onion and one spoon of chutney-which is really funny for $16.99. The chicken curry ($17.99) quantity was also not justified.
The taste of the food was below average. Only the dahi vada was nice, but again the quantity was very less. The samosa chaat was so oily that you could literally taste the oil.
The atmosphere was not great and the seating area is very small and the table where we sat was wobbling.
The employees are nice, but the service is super slow…it took almost 50 minutes to get dahi vada, chaap, and aloo chaat. I was happy to have an Indian restaurant close to my house, but this was very disappointing. I don’t understand how this place has so many 5-star reviews. Not sure if I am gonna be back here ever!
The fresh naan is delicate but flavorful. Had two rounds of proper chai! The saag paneer and Aslam chicken was a great balance of flavor and tenderness! The service and ambience were great. Will definitely add this place into our monthly rotation.
Aloo gobhi was made perfectly and was my favorite thing on the table.
We prefer gravies with no cream so ordered the chicken curry which had perfectly cooked chicken. Next time we will ask them to make it a little spicier, but that’s just our preference!
