Nice view from outside patio next to the theater. Drinks were ok. Lasagna also was meh!! Seafood linguini was good. Too much cheese. Service was slow.

Visiting out from California. Seeking some good food. Found Matino’s around the corner from the Shakespeare Festival campus.
The staff is very attentive, helpful and professional. The upstairs in the name is literally need to walk up the stairs, but next door is the street level restaurant location. Go up the stairs, enter into the door, the first thing you see is their full bar and their bar stools. They have inside seating as well as outside dining (roof dining).
The food review: the menu selection is unique. Their menu have the titles of each category in Italian from Appetizers, Soups, Salads, main dishes, desserts and of course a separate drink menu (Alcohol, spirits, ect.). I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken (the options are just pasta, or add Chicken or Prawn . There is spaghetti and Meatballs and Lasagna. The bread served as complimentary and you mix the olive oil with Balsamic Vinegar to dip in.
The red (out of Oregon) and the white wine (Italy) were a great pair between our dish selections. Had the Mud Pie and coffee for dessert. The coffee is a perfect match with the Mud Pie to top off the dinner experience.
I will have to give this a deserving 5 stars rating, aside the fact that this business DOESN’T HAVE a Military Discount. The wait staff did provide a SHAKESPEARE Discount and thanked me for my Service.

The best meal I’ve had for quite a while. One professional server was able to take care of many tables and the bar with great ease.

Amazing food and service. The upstairs is more suited for date night which is why we moved from the downstairs dining. Food was amazing and we for sure couldn’t eat it all. We will be returning for sure.

I’ve tried both the upstairs and downstairs and both were about equal. Friendly greetings, decent cocktails, varied levels of service and attention but all friendly. The main dish was good in all cases but bread was dry and seemed old or reheated. Did not try dessert since our mains were substantial for the average person. The atmosphere is nice, nothing outstanding but your typical italien-ish decor with a few years on it perhaps.
I will go again when the timing is right.

I normally don’t want to comment bad about any local business, however, it needs to be said. We only ordered to-go spaghetti & meatballs and clams. Loved the clams but the meatballs were tooooooo SALTY. My partner who can handle salt as he likes jerky and lots of meat, could not go past the first meatball. He made me try it and it’s true! Did they accidentally spill a whole salt shaker in our meatball order? I don’t know but my partner threw away his meatballs in the trash. Too bad we ordered to-go and couldn’t return it in person to the staff. Waitress seemed nice to accommodate our order in the last minute. Whoever made the meatballs in the kitchen need to get talked to by the manager or owner. Need not be said but to avoid judgments: Yes, we did tip. Disappointed as we were excited to try this place.☹️

It was a great surprising place while looking around the Shakespeare theaters, the restaurant was just next to the theater. Seafood linguine was excellent with lots of seafood!

Rich delicious food in a wonderful setting. The patio is beautiful, but if you prefer to sit inside, the atmosphere is great as well. Generous portions and we left fat and happy. The lasagna is spectacular as is the mac and cheese. Very impressed with the staff as well, our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly attentive.

Great meal and atmosphere. Kitchen is slow though. Give plenty of time if going to a play or activity after. Reservations are a must.
