The cozy, well-decorated space and comfortable seating make it easy for my husband and me to bring friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers out to hang. Be sure to stop in on Sunday nights for trivia with Kenny, fun questions and great vibes!
Thank you to Monty’s and GM Jon for creating a place that brings people together and keeps us coming back.
Otherwise, it’s a nice establishment. Food is solid if pricey; service is good; cozy atmosphere but not enough sound dampening.
Before we leave I try to ask her why once again. She says the law says they can only take horizontal state drivers licenses or passports. No military IDs are allowed. I tell her there is no such law. She says those are the rules of the bar. I say she must have made those rules up. She tells me that I’m sorry I heard something I didn’t want to hear, and that she is done debating. All I was asking was why.
The real law is that establishments have the right to refuse anyone for any reason. If she had said THAT was the law, it would’ve been silly, but I would have understood – it is the law after all. But instead, she tried to write her own laws and got caught in a lie. She was unlucky to make up a law in front of someone who knows what the laws are, got called out for it, and got defensive. Oh well.
I’m incredibly sorry for the staff that have to work under that manager. There is no reason to enforce such rules unless you have a desperate need to hold power over others. I cannot imagine she takes kindly to when one of her staff members says she’s wrong either.
Service sucked. I assume the guy that took my order was the waiter. He didn’t check on me, didn’t ask me if I wanted refills, and the only time he asked how everything was in passing. Lol he literally walked by asking and didn’t stop.
The only time he did stop was when the people behind me asked him for something and when he walked by I happened to glance up, not at him, but he stumbled a bit and stopped. He didn’t acknowledge my thank you’s or anything.
When I came in no one greeted me. The other waiter guy just stared at me. Didn’t feel like a warm and inviting atmosphere. They weren’t busy. Another thing I found odd was the one guy in the stripped shirt went to the table next to me and asked the couple how was everything and if there was anything he could do for them.
He didn’t ask me and just asked me “how are you doing”. Wasn’t worth $23. It was a weird experience and definitely won’t be back.
