A small place with a big personality. Great dive bar, great food, great atmosphere, and great prices. Don’t miss out. You can also call ahead for a pickup. I had the bacon cheese burger ($9.95) and this thing is huge! You won’t go away hungry. Definitely will be the best burger you’ll have in quite some time. I highly recommend giving Roughnecks a try.

I saw this place when searching for something different. It was worth the travel. Roughnecks is a hidden gem. The food was great, the service was great. But the atmosphere was completely unique in a fantastic way. All throughout our meal we were noticing some artwork, animal or little trinket hidden up on the wall or back in a corner. There is an elephants head that is full life sized! This was such an enjoyable lagniappe I was happy to be caught off gard. We will definitely be back if near the area.

Environment is a fun with cool decor, including the eloping the room. They were decorated for Halloween & a big rat was constructively placed.
Food was generous & our waitress was nice. Loved the cheese sticks & the Bully Burger wasn’t bad. Was much bigger than the picture gives justice. Fries were delicious!

I would not recommend eating here. They are NOT FRIENDLY.
Only thing in town to eat at other than subway. We were passing thru town and wanted something to eat real quick. I got my little ones subway and then the rest of us went here to get something to eat. We walked in ready to order and eat when the ((old lady/ owner/mgr )) behind counter screamed loudly no outside foods aloud! Everyone stopped to look at her and us….extremely rude how her behavior was. The lady behind counter could have said more politely or said your welcome to finish that outside then come in and order.

Stopped in after a quick trip to the Brazos/Whitney. This place was hoping on a Friday night…found out why real quick. 16oz New York Strip Baked Potatoe and a Salad. I am pretty sure that steak weighed 5 lbs. Awesome atmosphere in a historic building on Rio Vista. This place is a hole in the wall in a historic building in downtown. #elephanthead

A hidden gem of a bar/grill. You will have to turn off the main drag to find this, which may slightly add to the allure. Though I have only gone during lunch, the beer is always ice cold and the food is delicious. And both are reasonably priced. So far, I have not been able to find fault with this place
