First and foremost: There was nothing “wrong” with this restaurant, in fact our server was amazing. We tipped her 25% on principle alone, she was phenomenal. The food was buffet style and basic at best. I had hoped a $90(we had drinks also)brunch for two would be better. I understand those were my expectations. Energy in the restaurant was low, and again, I hoped it would be more lively and delicious. Maybe dinner is a different experience. Try it without expectations and you may just have a great experience.

The Local has officially set the bar for dining in the Central Valley. I’ve visited several times now, and they never fail to impress.
Why it’s a must-visit:
• Superior Service: From the moment you walk through the door, you’re treated like family. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seems happy to be there. It’s rare to find this level of hospitality where every detail is anticipated before you even have to ask.
• The Bread Pudding: You cannot leave without trying this. I’ll go out on a limb and say it is comfortably the best Bread Pudding in the Central Valley. It’s perfectly decadent—warm, rich, and has that ideal balance of texture that most places miss. It is worth the trip alone!
• Atmosphere: The vibe is welcoming and polished, making it perfect for both a casual weeknight dinner or a special celebration.
If you’re looking for high-quality food paired with service that actually makes you feel valued, do yourself a favor and head to The Local. Just make sure you save room for dessert!

Went with a group of family and had to wait for the food so we started with drinks. Our host was very friendly, and had a good knowledge of the wine and the mixed drinks, and recommended a few things which we were pleasantly surprised.

We went with the cheese and meat board first and it was pretty good. Different plates and the skirt steak with green sauce was well made.

Overall a really nice place with a great vibe and decent tasteful food.

We have eaten there many times. The food is good. We were there with a group of 6 celebrating a birthday. My wife has a severe food allergy which is always clearly disclosed. They mistakenly gave my wife contaminated food. She immediately got sick. Accidents can happen. The part that still bothers me is the lack of customer care and concern. We didn’t finish our meal for obvious reasons. The chef came out and apologized. Nothing was discounted on the bill. We were ok with it because he promised to do a make up meal to make things right. He asked for my number and said he would call in a few days to make arrangements. I thought that was nice. The problem is he NEVER CALLED or made good on his word. This happened a few months ago. We have never gone back. Bad business. Take care of your customers.

We may have encountered the NICEST and most chill server ever. What an overall lovely experience. Service was outstanding, and food was delicious. I’m 100% sure that you need to eat here, or at least enjoy a well-made cocktail. Wish I knew her name…she was great!

We went there my daughter and I after school, the place was not busy, normal Wednesday afternoon.
Quiet nice location in old town Clovis. First impression was disappointing when we ordered hummus with tapenade and vegetables, carrots were old and dry and cucumber too, hummus wasn’t in the best shape either.
Then we got the BLTA and the chicken tenders, they were really really good, the chicken tenders were freshly made and the batter was tasty and fried greatly. The BLTA: right amount of everything with those crispy crazy bacon, I loved it.
NB : my 3 stars rating is absolutely not a negative, we had a nice experience!!!

Today was our first time here. We called when they opened at 10am and was able to make reservations for the same day for their Sunday Brunch Buffet at 11am. On Sundays they only serve a brunch buffet for $25 per person and bottomless mimosas for $17 per person. They close for an hour to shift the kitchen and will reopen for dinner in the evening so be prepared for a brunch buffet if you come on a Sunday morning.

Service was great. Friendly, fast and they checked up on us consistently. They even let a gentleman come in to check out what was being served on the buffet table before deciding to dine. I thought that was nice since it’s $25 per person. The place was nice and clean. They have patio seating in the front and back of the restaurant as well.

They make eggs Benedict upon request which our server let us know since it’s not at the buffet table or a sign letting us know it was even an option. Today they had waffles, french toast, cinnamon rolls, fruit, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, quiche, salad with vinaigrette, mushrooms & asparagus, Mac N Cheese, Tri Tip & rice pilaf.

The food tasted great and is good quality, totally worth $25 per person. I am someone who can’t make up their mind because I want to eat a little bit of everything so a brunch buffet is perfect for me. Also, breakfast is my favorite meal and I don’t mind paying good money for good food. If you compare to Denny’s and IHOP’s prices, you’re already paying more than half to what you’re going to pay at The Local and The Local has better food and service in my opinion. And, why not help a local establishment rather than a chain restaurant? If you’re wondering where else I’ve eaten for my local breakfast comparison? I shall tell you…Red Apple Cafe, Fresno Breakfast House, Benediction, Quail State, Huckleberry’s just to name a few. The Local is a legit place for brunch and I definitely recommend it. I’m excited to return to try their dinner menu as well.
