Following an amazing afternoon at the circus, we decided to give a try to one of the recent addition to the Sarasota restaurant scene, intrigued by their gluten free menu.
Well cheers to a new favorite.
The food was nothing less than amazing. Excellent quality of the ingredients ( the tuna was outstanding), and the portions was enough to allow sharing in tapas style.
A mention also for the drinks both the classics and the proof zero ones.
Last but not the least, a real espresso to make this Italian happy.
The service was friendly, everything came out quickly, and the whole vibe just felt happy and relaxed. It was the perfect little mother-daughter date spot. We’ll definitely be back!
I was so excited about my chilaquiles, I forgot to take a before picture. It was so good!! We also got the potatoes to share and they were incredible. Unique and delicious — savory, but with a brightness you don’t usually get with breakfast potatoes.
They have a 100% Gluten Free kitchen! They do have beer, so there is some gluten in the place but it’s localized at the bar and they are very careful if you mention Celiac or an allergy.
The cilantro honey and lime yogurt is heavenly. It has the perfect balance of sweet and sour, with this bright freshness from the fruit that ties everything together so beautifully.
I also have to talk about their elote. This is honestly the only place I’ve found that actually has elote on the menu, and they do it perfectly.
For my main, I got the ancho & chile beef tips and they were incredible. Perfectly cooked, full of rich, smoky flavor, and so well-seasoned that every bite was better than the last. Pair it with their homemade hot sauce (you have to ask for it) and it becomes insane. The heat, the depth, the savoriness. It just an unforgettable combination.
If you’re thinking about going—go. This place nails it every single time
As someone with celiac I’m so unbelievably happy with this place.
Allan was awesome, the knowledge and know how of everything on the menu was truly something else. I’m so glad I listened to everything he had to say with recommendations. It DID NOT disappoint.
I also appreciate Comida’s commitment to health-conscious dining: the entire menu is gluten-free, free of seed oils, and made with organic ingredients wherever possible.
If I had one critique, it would be the seating.
The dining area is quite small and can feel cramped, especially during peak hours. Sitting so close to other tables takes away from the otherwise elevated experience. That said, I’ll definitely be back—next time, perhaps during a quieter time of day.
