If this place wasn’t located at the airport — where people are rushed, hungry, and don’t have time to search for better food ⏰✈️ — I doubt it would last even 2 hours.

Ordering is done through a computer , the staff behind the counter grills the meat fresh, and the smell around the area is actually wonderful . The grill itself seems decent. But the lady working on it didn’t look very motivated at all . Maybe she was just having a bad day… Still, when I asked for mayonnaise, the answer was cold and uninterested ❄️. I didn’t get mayo, salt, or ketchup.

When the food finally arrived, it didn’t look too bad . But… the bun was icy cold , the bacon was chewy and served cold , and the meat had no salt or seasoning whatsoever — same with the cheese , completely tasteless. The fries were bland, cold, and unsalted . The onion rings were the only thing somewhat edible, until I bit into one that had half a raw onion head battered inside .

This was honestly the worst burger I’ve ever had in my life, and the first one I couldn’t even finish .

Such a shame, because this spot has so much potential. With just a few small changes, it could be turned into something so much better ✨ .

The burgers here are actually very good. But expect to wait long and to pay a LOT, as they are expensive, even considering the restaurant is at an airport.
If you have the time and don’t mind the price, the burgers are pretty good.

If you have other options, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Burgers were overcooked. I also ordered wings, but after a long wait, they told me they were out, along with tenders as alternative. They asked me to choose an alternative and suggested a burger and fries, saying they would bring it out to me for the inconvenience. That never happened. I had to go back and remind them, even after the manager made eye contact and walked away.

When the food finally came, the meat had clearly been cooked ahead of time and was extremely overcooked. Overall, unprofessional service and a long wait. Do not be fooled by the crowd. Just go elsewhere.

The Oreo milkshake was good, but disappointed in the avocado burger I received. I ordered this burger expecting to get “custom sauce”, and I received the burger without the sauce because they ran out but I wasn’t informed of this until after I received my burger and asked where the sauce was on my burger. I would have got the regular burger if I would have known they ran out of the custom sauce, and saved some money doing it. The lady behind the grill was really nice and working the grill by herself all while trying to assist people at the kiosk even though they had a person there that was supposed to help customers with their orders. The burgers need some season because it was pretty plain.

Ordered for the chicken sandwitch and cheese fries at Newark airport on 07/04/2025 and was kept waiting for more that 45 min for the order name to be announced. Talk to the lady present outside the restaurant who was of no help or guidance for the delay
Finally had to chk with the kitchen guy about the order who then brought the same. Almost took an hour. So kindly just avoid going to this restaurant at the airport. There are other good eating places so prefer those

Worst possible experience. Service was poor and they disguised it as that friendly banter. But waiting 45 minutes only for them to lose our order that we placed on their kiosk and then turning out incorrect burgers and sides while we had 5 minutes till boarding started is unacceptable. Very unprofessional and felt like the man behind the counter cooking burgers had a personal vendetta against his tablet with the orders. I guess my mistake was assuming this restaurant still had everything under control despite his hurried slowness when it came to getting burgers out to people. Many people were frustrated by the ridiculous wait time.

You have to lower your expectations when dining in an airport – the restaurants are often all owned by one company and they have a captive audience.

Custom Burgers is just meh. I dislike they force you to use dirty, fingerprint covered kiosks to place your order. They’re disgusting. The staff do not care about customers at all. They move slowly behind the counter and glare at anyone who dares ask a question. There is no hurry here. The food is meh – frozen burgers cooked to death and served on low quality, mushy buns with fries that are neither good nor bad.

I’m guessing it’s really hard to find people who want to work at an airport burger joint – having to get to Newark, go through security, only to dish out bad food to harried passengers is not a fun career.

I wish I saw the reviews before getting the food from here . We were told it’s a 20 minute wait which was fine for us. We got the burgers after 30 minutes which are proper cold . We ordered sweet potato fries too but they mentioned that their fryer is not working . Maybe it’s better to not take the order then . I asked if I will get the money back or what they plan to do about it . The guy offered me regular fries which were quite bad too. While all this was going on , I noticed other people asking for manager to complain too. A lot of people get tempted because they are cooking in front of you so a the smell attracts people but they can match up with the orders . And the quality is no where close to what you will expect . If you have time , you are better off sitting in a proper restaurant.

The atmosphere is okay for an airport. The wait for my classic cheeseburger and fries seemed a little longer than normal. When I finally received the meal the burger was cold, the fries were warm at best. My burger was missing a component and mentioned the temperature it was ignored. Overall the meal was a C-. You don’t expect much at the airport but with Pat Lafrieda stamped on the sign I would expect more. I learned my overpriced lesson.

Looks like there are tons of negative reviews and rightfully so, but I had a good experience. Ordered, got a fresh chicken sandwich and fries and got them quickly. Both were hot and frisk crispy. Tomato and lettuce on the sandwich tasted fresh enough too. Yeah it’s expensive but it’s the airport. Which isn’t a pass it’s just that everything is here which sucks. But mine was good.
